But if say stuff that can damage their public reputation without having proof, but you believe this is a fact, then it is §186. And if you made this up or otherwise knew it was a false statement, it is §187. While related, it is not the same legal case in Germany. The last one is the most severe if we go by maximum punishment.

It’s all slander/libel in the UK (& probably the most other countries that inherited our legal system as well).

Take a second to check out their code of conduct then try and think like a moderator would when tasked with upholding those rules. May help. Doesn’t mean they won’t misconstrue what they’ve read from time to time. If it’s possible that what was typed could be interpreted as having negative connotation in some way though then issuing penalty for it can always be considered. I was just muted by a moderator myself I think for use of the word bitches on the help channel despite having used it in a neutral way in relation to female dogs. Worth it in my opinion as I think my contribution to that particular conversation was a positive one.
