Personally, I just take it on the chin like an adult, especially if it’s fair.

Take a second to check out their code of conduct then try and think like a moderator would when tasked with upholding those rules. May help. Doesn’t mean they won’t misconstrue what they’ve read from time to time. If it’s possible that what was typed could be interpreted as having negative connotation in some way though then issuing penalty for it can always be considered. I was just muted by a moderator myself I think for use of the word bitches on the help channel despite having used it in a neutral way in relation to female dogs. Worth it in my opinion as I think my contribution to that particular conversation was a positive one.
