The moderators on this platform are being ridicilous

is there no free speech allowed at all? people literally get offended by ANYTHING becuz they are special snowflakes my posts got removed several of them in one post i said “you like to pay for garbage” and it got removed becuz " Your post was flagged as inappropriate: the community feels it is offensive, abusive, to be hateful conduct or a violation of" i call somone for fanboy same thing post removed i disagree with somones opinion post get removed what can i even say then? why is everyone special snowflakes

Well considering that I’ve had a 400 post argument with @Kulze in another thread and neither of us have had our posts removed leads me to believe that you’re being toxic and people are reporting you for it.

Clearly people can argue, disagree, and have critical discussions about the game in a constructive manner and not have their posts moderated, so this seems like a you issue, buddy.

Edit: also, freedom of speech =/= freedom from consequences.

In the USA bill of rights (not speaking on behalf of other nations, basically) the right to freedom of speech simply means that the government cannot make laws to prevent people from saying things. For example, they can never pass that will criminalize treasonous language. They can, however, arrest/fine you for things you say (consequences). So if you shout “fire!” in a crowded movie theater, you’re going to get fined. It’s not an infringement on your freedom of speech though. Also, this is a public forum owned by EHG so they make the rules. USA has a right to bear arms, but owners of property can prevent you from bringing firearms on their premises. Not an infringement on your rights. Ehg received a report, agreed, and acted. You have free speech, they have the right to silence your toxic language

I didn’t report you even though you confronted me with your reply in the cycle refresh thread. I’m also not stupid to go into an argument with someone on the internet that in my opinion is clearly trolling or just full of hate for whatever reason.

True, i just wanted to remind you that you got triggered by the word ‘‘d4’’ so you pretty much started all that.
Same with the other guy who constantly writes a poem here.
It’s also funny how you called me a blizzard fanboy when i mentioned that ‘‘i like to play LE, PoE and Diablo’’. Didn’t know that playing a game immediately makes you a fanboy.

Just to give an good example that people don’t care if someone points at them and says random stuuf: Since when is “D4” a word @TriKster  ?

So you’ve had a post flagged as offensive and you thought to yourself “You know what I should do? I should start a thread and be even more offensive!”.

people literally get triggered by anything as well.

Personally I get “triggered” by th excessive & unnecessary use of “anything”, along with people being too lazy to use even half way decent grammar/spelling (people for whom English is not their first language get a pass on this, but native English speakers should know better).

I was halfway tempted to see if someone had made a Warhammer Ork Speech translator to run a paragraph through to really grind your gears :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, 'oo am I kidd’n. I decided ta take a look an’ found wun anyway. Yer ‘umiez are so silly wit’ yer try’n ta speak all propa an’ 'da like.

Personally, I think there should be a comma behind personally :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah, but I read that in the voice of a 40k Orc, so that’s ok.

I’d imagine it might depend whether you’re pausing & putting the stress on “personally” or not. :person_shrugging: I’m merely an accountant & I did a proper degree, not English.

My pattern recognition is irritated if the comma is missing. But I am neither a native speaker nor do I hold a degree in English. LanguageTool marks the missing comma as recommended, not mandatory. However, behind ‘however’ it is mandatory. Grammar can be complicated :face_exhaling:

I’m not going to lie, sometimes I do that just because.

Yes, we like to confuse the foreigners (& natives as well TBH).

I don’t know the specifics of your messages, but here in germany your freedom of speech ends where the personal rights of another person starts.

We have freedom of speech in germany, but that doesn’t mean you can say whatever you want.

And on a 3rd party platform all of this does not matter anyway. Because the ToS are what matters. The owner of that platform can choose what they want and what they don’ want.

*Laughs in German*

I can more than relate to that.

English is a funny language (well, most are, but English has some fun peculiarities), especially in writing.
For example, the sentence “I never said she stole my money” will have different meanings according to which word you stress. Which is why authors will use italics. Because without them, you don’t actually know what the sentence is saying exactly.

As for the thing that started all this, if you start a sentence with “Personally”, you’re stressing that word and that also involves a slight pause after the word, which requires a comma. So technically, the comma is required for good english.

Likewise (since we’re ribbing on Llama for his post on grammar/spelling accuracy), “&” is incorrect. Yes, you save the effort of typing two whole words, but it’s not proper formal written english. It is equivalent to writing “I’ll be @ the shop”. You can do it informally (much like you can say lol, smh, etc), but in an english exam it would be a mark against you.

We’ll forgive you the “th” instead of “the” since that’s clearly a typo and you don’t commonly make those.

It’s quite simple actually…
Commas are mandatory whenever you start a sentence with an adverb. That’s the general rule.
“Personally” and “However” are both adverbs, so if you start a sentence with them, you generally should put a comma right after.

Well, I went back and looked at the deleted messages. I deleted a couple of them, and one more just now. I would just like to remind you that misrepresenting moderation status is actually against the code of conduct.

By using these forums you are agreeing to abide by that code of conduct. We fully support people speaking their mind and providing criticism where they feel it is needed.

Insulting people who disagree with you is not appropriate and is clearly listed as inappropriate behavior.

I’m closing this topic while I clean it up and I’ll reopen it shortly.

Edit: oh and nobody reported this.

Well, not as bad as I was expecting.

Yeah, we all got sidetracked into an English lesson that ended up being more interesting than the original topic.
