The game is to grindy

I thought I was on the D4 forums for a minute, all the entitled crying and expecting everything to be dumbed down and handed to them.

I think it’s a matter of perspective. If you are focused on the objective of getting the best gear the game has to offer in the least time, then yes, you might think of it as a grind.

But if you think of the game as an entertaining pastime that gives you some complexity to play with (different classes, builds, gear, etc.) and requires some skill to play at high levels (empowered monos) … then it’s not a grind. It’s just fun.

The diminishing returns effect does set in after the level 90 benchmarks. You can make it better by having stricter loot filters to really narrow down what you want or make a different toon. Multiple characters is pretty entertaining in this game given the diversity.

I find this an impossible statement. You just don’t know how to craft is the issue here.

More than PoE??? You’re obviously a troll. Clearly, you’ve not played PoE in the past several years.

im a newbie to arpgs. I played 64 hours of Grim Dawn before LE. That’s all my experience.
I’m doing the 85 monolith with my 76 paladin. i definitely lack dmg, take a decent amount of damage, but it still somehow works and i get a lot of loot.
If the mobs are too hard, i just try to finish the objective, and if they are easy to kill, i farm some exp along the way.
i think Last Epoch is pretty foolproof cause im a fool and it still works.

Yeah, the number of monoliths played implies either
They aren’t crafting
They aren’t Merchant’s Guild
They aren’t actually utilizing their CoF faction properly either
Maybe they watched Asmongold for tips on how to play

All of which are very unfortunate and the first 3 are kinda on the devs for not properly guiding the players into these systems. The last one is also on the devs for not having the game guide him into these systems also.

If you played the game without crafting or factions, yeah the game is way too grindy and isn’t rewarding at all lmao.

From my personal experience people get too attached to gear and their affixes. They hold onto their low level gear with affixes that synergize with their build whilst forgoing new gear with implicits that would boost them immensely. Bet ya that’s what’s happened here.

When you finish your “normal” monoliths, you are basically done with the game - and you can safely start a new toon, or you can keep grinding in “endless” corruption… The game is not at all to grindy, there is currently no reason to get level 100 unless its a goal for you. I would suggest to make your loot filter better, try to craft / build upon the items you find. it took me around 20-25h to go from 1-90 and 150 corruption, pretty sure you should be able to do the same.
This isn’t D4 and hopefully never will be, where you can finish and 1 shot all the endgame bosses within 10h of game play.

Your character is 79. Looking at the gear, there is so much room for improvements. Most resistances are way overcapped. Change some resistances for max health, since you have no ward generation to speak off, no flat minion bow or spell damage on weapons.

I’m pretty sure that reconsidering many gear choices would lead to drastic improvements in the survivability and performance of your character, even if it might feel at first that you make a step backwards with your gear.

Some mobs are broken, like eagle meteor caster.
Some cases its about damage category, your resistances are not matching and/or you don’t have DOT mitigation itens etc.

Game does not a decent but a great job on targeting items.

He has less than 900 max hp and only 11 ward per second on gear.
Getting 1-shot is no miracle at this point.

stop crying, think about why you are dying instead of blaming the game, maybe blame on your lack of def stats, resist and hp first.

For me its different i have the problem i focus on my resistances too much i think, i am crafting because i wanna learn the system quite good because the crafting i think is the wayvto go for somehow good gear. But sometimes there is a good drop for example i have 80 phisical resistance there is another chest dropping that is better dmg wise but then i loose 40 phisical resistance i am afraid to drop it. So ye.

Many ARPGs use deterministic loot, aka you find rhe base item from a specific boss, you equip said item, you move on. In fact most old school arpgs did it this way for A REASON.

We need to have both

Ye it was oldschool arpgs mostly for offline community. Reason why you need to kill boss 10-100x times in this time modern arpgs is mechanics. You will learn mechanic and move on. And because this game have so much in a way in future …lot of new content…mechanics…bosses…etc. I guess its good way to learn people slow.

This is the dumbest post i’ve read on this forum. Grindier then PoE? (don’t get me wrong i love PoE). I am level 100 with several 2+legendary uniques on monolith 600 after a very decent week play. I barely grind MB after a week in PoE. If you play some $#@ build and have 0 knowledge about the game mechanics it is not the fault of the game …
