The game doesn't give me anything anymore

Hi,

I was so excited about the game at first, now I’m LVL 100 (my gear is still not that good, barely getting through at Corruption 200).

There is just nothing dropping for me.

It just makes me not want to grind all day if you are not even minimally rewarded for it.

Sure is a RNG but my gear is crap and yet I find nothing better or anything where it is worth to craft.

I’m slowly losing the desire to play the game and that’s sad, is my first char and how to have so desire to start a second.

Initially, I have only farmed Empowered Blessings has also worked wonderfully but the rest now is just a pain and makes no fun to continue playing.

Sure, its the genre but why put the precious time in it, then I can also play other games.

Unfortunately, this will certainly read no DEV…

Well too bad.

So, what exactly changed since your previous topic from a couple of days ago, that requires the exact same discussion, just in a new thread within another forums category?

Great, that’s a decent achievement. I usually stop playing my characters at that point and start another one.

Why are you torturing yourself that way? From your previous topic it was abundantly clear that you don’t enjoy what you’re doing. Why do you still continue? You could start a new character, play another game, or do something else entirely, something that you enjoy.

That’s a feedback to the devs.

Why I continue? Because that’s the goal of the game to push the char to the max but it’s impossible actual even in little steps (there are absolutely no steps at all).

Start a new char? With exact the same result, no way at all to farm again all blessings and then get nothing again.

I get all sorts of good gear but not for this char, that’s really strange at all. Why high drops with swords for a mage? Really strange rng system.

As I said it’s a feedback thread and I’m sure many of us has exactly the same problem.

Maybe I will start a new char but not as soon.

I think soon on later I will loose the interest on this game and will delete it and never touch again as much of games before  but it’s sad because the game has potential.

Seems like you got a lot out of it if you reached level 100 and were grinding a lot? Seems like you played the game to its full extent and it isn’t even out of beta yet, seems like you got a great bang for your buck.

Okay, but what is your feedback? What exactly do you want to be changed and how? “I don’t like X and I want you to change it” isn’t feedback that could lead anywhere.

No, that’s the goal you set yourself. The game doesn’t say anything about “go on indefinitely, even if you hate doing it”. Besides, there is no definitive “max” because the game is designed to almost always allow for 1% better than before, while it gets more and more difficult/time consuming to achieve that 1% bonus. You have to decide for yourself when it is enough.

Because mages can wield swords. In fact, they do that quite proficiently depending on your build.

You are off topic, it doesn’t matter I made my point clear that not even a small upgrade is in there and my gear is pretty standard what I found and have craftet a bit.

This is a feedback corner and I have given my feedback more it is not.

Other games manage to keep you interested in the long run by rewarding you for your hours.

The point is not to create a new char after reaching level 100.

It doesn’t matter because the discussion will lead to nothing.

I am sure and we are a lot of other players who have exactly the same problem.

I replied directly to your statements. If I’m off-topic then so are you.

It isn’t clear to me, not at all. That’s why I asked. You said you didn’t get the items that you want. That’s a basic but fitting description of itemisation and RNG systems in games like LE, but it isn’t constructive feedback. Again, what exactly do you want to be changed and how?

Feedback = my opinion from the game (in this case the loot)

Feedback ≠ I don’t ask for change but a change it this point by higher drop rates would be appreciated

I don’t know. There’s a lot of questions to solve to get to the root of your problem.

  1. So your gear is not that good. Ok. How do you come to that conclusion? Since you are a relatively new player, can we trust your statement? Are you really in a position to rate your gear? You don’t show us your gear. How can we know? Maybe your gear is above average but you only think it is bad bacause you can’t beat 200 cirruption easily.

  2. You can’t beat 200 corruption easily. But why is that so? Is it your gear? Or is it an issue with your build? Or did you just choose all the wrong map modifiers that make playing hell on earth?

  3. You say you don’t get gear upgrades. Ok. Just be aware that if you’re already running with t20+ gear there won’t be any item that instantly is better the moment it drops. You have to utilize the crafting system to turn the new item into something better. At lvl 90+ it’s finding exalts with build defining t6/7 stats and craft on them to make them your BIS. If you don’t craft your ass off at that level, you already found the reason why your gear progression got stuck.

  4. What lootfilter are you using and how strict is it? If you set up your lootfilter to show only one glove base with 4 specific affixes, you won’t see any loot for weeks. Its more reasonable to just seach for specific bases with 2-3 affixes and try to seal/chaos the rest. Again: crafting.

  5. When a build guide or build planner shows a specific item, don’t expect to get that exact item. try to aim for similar stats. If you don’t find solarum greaves with fire res with decent affixes, but only boots with cold res implicit with the stats you want, take them and adapt you ither gear. You can still swap later. The planner items often are just one way to obtain the stats you want. Maybe the most optimal way. But often there are other ways to achieve similar results with a different stat distribution.

I can only speculate why you (think you) don’t find good gear, because you give so little context. But what I wrote above are the typical new player hickups with the gearing system.

I’m a long time player and I read the forums a lot. I don’t have the feeling thay too many players have issues with gearing like you describe. I just say that to give you some context about why I think this problem maybe more based on your own perception and how you try to achieve things, than the overall gearing system.

Cheers

I use this guide:

I’m aware that I can get the exact same but for example I have some exhalted that I crafted a little bit like that but wasn’t really aware how to seal.

Now I want to do that but get any exhalted drops of that gear for days, gloves, belts and boots nothing even a onehand wand has dropped one time in 100h and that the one I used and it’s also not seal and has no FP anymore.

That’s why I want to get similar loot that I can do it again and better but no way because I don’t get anything anymore.

For the prism wraps LP it’s a other thing farming that for a week now nothing , but a lot of good body’s LPs for other classes, that strange. I’m playing mage not sentinel or other classes.

Ps. The loot filter I’m using is that from the link above.

The items you’re aiming for, that the guide describes as endgame gear, aren’t really obtainable in a couple of hours for a new player. That expectation is unrealistic. But you also seem to have skipped the “Advanced Gear” section, because before the guide recommends to go for Prism Wraps with LP and exalted gear, they explain what to look for when it comes to rare gear.
As I already told you in another thread, target farming e.g. Prism Wraps with LP can take you hundreds of hours already, if you’re unlucky. Going for the rest of that setup with uniques and exalts and trying to realise it 1:1 is unrealistic as well if you’re already burned out by the couple of hours of farming you did.

LE isn’t Diablo 3 where you can quickly farm the current meta set and be perfectly equipped in a couple of hours. There’s also no loot system as restrictive as in D3, where 99% of the drops are for your character specifically. LE provides way more freedom in building your character but due to that it is also less straightforward and casual with its itemisation, character building and progression.

It would help a great deal if you’d link your character build in its current state here. Maybe we’re able to suggest something that is more feasible to achieve in a timely manner. Use the build planner for that purpose. If you’re playing offline, you can even upload your save file there, without the need to manually recreate every item.

FWIW, I’ve now hit the same scenario on two characters - rapidly - and I’m rapidly approaching it on a third.

In my experience it’s very quick to break into the “I have at least one priority T5/T6 affix on most/all of my gear and mostly other desirable stats” state once you’re in Empowered, and chances are good you’re already on your way before you’ve even unlocked them. But you can easily stagnate for a long time without any meaningful drops - most often what I see are possible side-grades, provided crafting luck is on my side, but almost never a full on for reals upgrade. Upgrades at this point are really rare.

However, I don’t think that part is actually where the issue is - I think that upgrades should be rare at that point. Desirable T7 stats after all should be the really aspirational, long term stuff since it’s the max. But when you’re getting to the T6 step before that really quickly and then hitting an enormous desert, it feels kinda shitty by contrast.

This is why I’m an advocate for trade.

Since I now know how crappy the loot system is here, I will accept that and continue to grind until I leave because of interest, but still I think that something could be improved here, after all, we have paid for the game and is not a free2play game where you buy progress with money.

I play online char but maybe I’ll make the effort or at least make some screenshots

Thanks

This sentence has 2 statements that I want to elaborate on:

  1. You say the loot system is crappy. I made a post recently what I think about the wrong expectations that are created by following build guides like the one you follow.

Lizards guide is really great in terms of content. You’ll barely find many people that have the same amount of game knowledge. But you have to somehow realise what he bases his builds on. I think he might have around 7k (or even more) hours in this game. For him this guide is 100% doable. But I won’t bet money on the fact that he might have obtained the BIS gear himself. This might just be a showcase for extremely lucky people that really like to grind A LOT. This gear might take you several hundreds of hours to obtain. At this point I’d say this is only a theoretical goal, not a real one. 99% of the playerbase won’t achieve it.

I’d be curious about how long one would just run around with the advanced gear.

The endgame gear makes some suggestion about for example boots with sealed %armour, hybrid health, vitality and flat health. The icing on the cake is a t6/7 movement speed affix. These boots already are a project on its own. If you get these, its defenitely worth posting on LE social media to make people drool.

If you force yourself to get these boots, you won’t have fun. You cannot force it. This stuff just happens.

If you can get these boots non sealed, non exalted, you can be happy. Then aim for boots with an exalted affix. But don’t rely on movement speed being the one exalted stat. No matter what out of these 4-5 stats drops exalted, it’ll be a great base to craft on.

  1. If you don’t have fun, why torture yourself farming more and more? How many hours per day do you invest in playing the game? There are tins of builds out there you can try to build up to a similar power level. Maybe on your way to 100 on your next char you find your LP Prism Wrasp.

I mean, the endgame and BIS gear is only for people that dedicate the vast majority of their freetime to LE GRINDING - and they need to have a lot of freetime to spend. This is for people that enjoy that kind playstyle and don’t bother grinding the same maps for hours and hours, day after day, week after week.

Your statements sound like you are not that kind of person that can enjoy that grind. So in conclusion I’d give you the advice to stop where you are if you dont have any fun.

There’s no reason to burn out yourself on your first ever character and end playing LE forever because you started to hate the game. If you don’t want to play another character and try out different builds and masteries, maybe take a break until the next content patch drops and see what is new.

Cheers mate. I hope you make the right decision for yourself. :fist:
