I am playing on a 4k 27" 16:9 monitor and the game is very difficult to see because of the size and placement of the HUD elements. blocking the entire right side of my screen. Minimizing the quest log helps, but just barely enough to feel like it’s playable. I have several suggestions, either;
-
Enable a way to scale the HUD so that I can shrink it down to a level I find suitable
-
Allow me to hide elements like the mini-map, quest log and skill bar entirely
-
Design and implement a ‘minimal hud’ option which only displays the player health/mana, and potions without the (very nice looking) health/mana globes and maybe a bare-bones skill bar with the mini-map and quest log hidden completely as you can bring those things up with a key binding
I know I can hide the ENTIRE HUD by pressing delete, but it also removes necessary information like my health bar, how many potions I have and my ability to bring up the map. The ideal would be to implement all three suggestions, allowing players to hide and scale UI individual elements and if they desire, enable a menu option to change it to a stripped-down HUD for maximum visibility. I know developer time and resources are limited, but it feels like the game is really only playable on ultra-wide or maybe it’s less intrusive on 32" monitors, but at 27", it is very irksome and claustrophobic. Does anyone else with this size monitor have trouble with the HUD or feel like it interferes with gameplay?
