I’ve farmed this boss over 50 times now, and I have to be honest: the Vision of the Observer is easily one of the most frustrating and poorly designed encounters currently in the game. It feels like a “slop” fight where mechanics were thrown together without considering how they actually feel to play repeatedly.
Here is why this fight feels terrible right now:
1. Forced Immunity & The “Damage Cap” Problem The Omen immunity mechanic is probably the worst part of the fight. I’ve built a dedicated bosser capable of one-tapping Uber, yet that power feels completely irrelevant here.
- The Issue: High damage should be a reward for good gearing. If my build is “broken,” nerf the build—don’t punish me with forced immunity phases that make my 300m+ DPS feel like zero.
- Comparison: Even Uber Abboth’s immunity feels better because it’s an Uber-tier encounter, and even then, truly high-end builds can bypass certain windows. Being hard-stuck behind an Omen kill every time makes the fight feel like a scripted chore rather than a test of strength.
2. Visual Clarity & Boss Scaling The arena is a mess of visual clutter. Between the resistance debuffs and the constant ice shards, you literally cannot see what is happening.
- The boss model is way too small.
- The boss teleports constantly, making it a “Where’s Waldo” simulator just to find where the hitbox went.
- When you combine a tiny, teleporting boss with zero visual clarity, it’s not “challenging,” it’s just annoying.
3. Mechanics Overload (Resistance Debuffs & Ice Shards)
- The Resistance Orbs: These spawn in such high volume that you spend the entire fight just running around trying to “pop” them so they don’t sit in the middle and zero-out your resistances. It’s tedious.
- Ice Shards: The damage on the circular ice shards feels completely overtuned compared to other mechanics in the same tier. One small clip and the run is over, regardless of your defensive layers.
4. Lack of Identity The fight feels like a collection of reused assets and skills. There isn’t a “hook” or a unique mechanic that feels exciting to master. It just feels like a mashup of existing annoying tropes (teleporting, immunity, ground degens) without any of the polish we see in other parts of the game.
Final Thoughts I’m at 1500+ Corruption, and I should feel the progression of my gear. Instead, I feel like I’m being forced to quit because the boss design ignores my character’s power. Please consider removing the total immunity in favor of high damage reduction (so high DPS can still push through) and increasing the boss’s physical size/visual presence in the arena.
Right now, this isn’t a test of skill it’s just a test of patience.
