The Fractured Prison Boss (Vision of the Observer) needs a serious rework

I’ve farmed this boss over 50 times now, and I have to be honest: the Vision of the Observer is easily one of the most frustrating and poorly designed encounters currently in the game. It feels like a “slop” fight where mechanics were thrown together without considering how they actually feel to play repeatedly.

Here is why this fight feels terrible right now:

1. Forced Immunity & The “Damage Cap” Problem The Omen immunity mechanic is probably the worst part of the fight. I’ve built a dedicated bosser capable of one-tapping Uber, yet that power feels completely irrelevant here.

  • The Issue: High damage should be a reward for good gearing. If my build is “broken,” nerf the build—don’t punish me with forced immunity phases that make my 300m+ DPS feel like zero.
  • Comparison: Even Uber Abboth’s immunity feels better because it’s an Uber-tier encounter, and even then, truly high-end builds can bypass certain windows. Being hard-stuck behind an Omen kill every time makes the fight feel like a scripted chore rather than a test of strength.

2. Visual Clarity & Boss Scaling The arena is a mess of visual clutter. Between the resistance debuffs and the constant ice shards, you literally cannot see what is happening.

  • The boss model is way too small.
  • The boss teleports constantly, making it a “Where’s Waldo” simulator just to find where the hitbox went.
  • When you combine a tiny, teleporting boss with zero visual clarity, it’s not “challenging,” it’s just annoying.

3. Mechanics Overload (Resistance Debuffs & Ice Shards)

  • The Resistance Orbs: These spawn in such high volume that you spend the entire fight just running around trying to “pop” them so they don’t sit in the middle and zero-out your resistances. It’s tedious.
  • Ice Shards: The damage on the circular ice shards feels completely overtuned compared to other mechanics in the same tier. One small clip and the run is over, regardless of your defensive layers.

4. Lack of Identity The fight feels like a collection of reused assets and skills. There isn’t a “hook” or a unique mechanic that feels exciting to master. It just feels like a mashup of existing annoying tropes (teleporting, immunity, ground degens) without any of the polish we see in other parts of the game.

Final Thoughts I’m at 1500+ Corruption, and I should feel the progression of my gear. Instead, I feel like I’m being forced to quit because the boss design ignores my character’s power. Please consider removing the total immunity in favor of high damage reduction (so high DPS can still push through) and increasing the boss’s physical size/visual presence in the arena.

Right now, this isn’t a test of skill it’s just a test of patience.

I totally agree. This made the end of the cycle so anti-climactic and annoying. I am very disappointed, this is terrible design. I’m aghast that nobody tested this properly from the dev team. Please do better next time.

I struggled to do him on 2 of my chars - like was tricky and then on my warpath he dies quicker than normal abby, it’s a very messy fight for anyone who has to stick close to him and it’s pretty much just Shade but with an extra fire attack and floaty orbs. It sincerely looks like a huge after thought “shit guys we’re 7 months into this insanely long cycle how do we make people happy because we’ve just nerfed imprints and nuked acid flask for no reason!” “broooo lets make a cheap knock off of shade and call him a boss”

exactly, also i am very sad they are slopping bosses or mechanics like this because they will never ever get reworked or fixed literally

The thing I hate most is that the fracture prison itself is super rare and the drop rates are horrendous. Not to mention the fact that the omen veil feels way harder than the actual boss.

What do you mean? As long as you complete all 3 omen windows in Omen’s Veil at the same time and not let one close off, it will always drop on completion.
As far as I’m aware, it’s a 100% drop rate on success and 0% if you let any of the windows expire.

it has %100 chance but 3 omens must be open at any time even if its brief momentotherwise you wont drop it. If your build is struggling open 1 or 2 and wait till bar is close to finish then open the rest. If you dont do this it just wont drop

Sorry, don’t know what I was thinking when I wrote that. It’s miscommunication on my part, my bad. What I meant was, the amulet has a horrendous drop rate.

The one that drops from the vision of the observer. Especially since Omen’s veil seems harder than the actual vision of the observer.

Yeah, that’s a 10% chance to drop. Although it does have a very high potential level, with a 1 in 5 to drop as 2LP, so that helps a little when farming it.

That would be a low legendary potential level. High lpl makes it harder to get LP.

Yeah, that. The way they termed it is a bit confusing at times.

It was never intended to be a thing that was exposed to the playerbase. It’s not even a level, it’s just a number that’s used in a formula to give a % chance for LP.

It’s like complaining that the data file names don’t make sense to players…

Maybe it’s better if we just say “a good/bad potential level”. Or easy/hard. :stuck_out_tongue:

:person_shrugging: Higher = more difficult, just like content. I don’t think it’s particularly odd/whatever.

That would be fair, except that we’re talking about the chance to roll LP. And higher chance = easier. That is why I always confuse them.

Which is why

Players don’t need to know how this particular sausage is made. But datamining is a thing, so :person_shrugging:

I actually first learned about the term because Mike used it on discord, not because of datamining. He explained what it was all the way back in 2021.

Yeah & he had to explain it back in the day because it was datamined & players got confused.

Avarage players maybe but this is a terrible argument. it will be known and game will stay alive because of people investigating the details. “You just dont need to know” is a terrible take. What you mean ? i am spending my time for this game ofcourse i want to know the rates of what i am spending my time on to farm.

It is slightly lower drop rate as Nihilis considering the amulet has the lowest LPL you almost always drop it LP2-3. Dropping the amulet is not really problem the problem is actually dropping one that is useful that is maxed +2 skills and maxed attributes + 2 of your conversions and on top of that you may need +1 corrupted affix as well. Which is just gamble. Also farming the key takes long time to farm the boss i probably got like 50 exulis amulets by now and i barely got like 2-3 useful ones rest is just meh. I think amulet should have the same or even higher rate compare to nihilis
