From what I’ve seen and experienced in games like Path of Exile 1–2 and Diablo 2–3–4 (and many others), players who abused exploits like this would get banned pretty quickly. Devs never liked this kind of behavior because it gives a huge advantage over other players. If you don’t fix this, I don’t think the game will ever be fair…
Just Comedy…I’d really appreciate it if you could fix this before the season starts.
Here’s what actually happens when you swap weapons or other gear: normally, in any build, you’re supposed to benefit from just one weapon. But when you swap weapons, helms, or other items, all the stats from those items stay permanently on your character in terms of damage and defense.
So people abusing this exploit are basically stacking 3–4–5 weapons plus all the extra gear at the same time. For example, if your normal damage is around 100 million, it jumps to 700M–1B or even more, and you gain a similar amount of defense too.
To really get it, you don’t just need to watch it—you have to actually play it at high corruption like I did.
Normally impossible they cant kill any white mobs in 10-15k corrp… Impossible…
Snapshotting is a term that applies to minions and has been fixed already last season. So I’m not sure what you mean with “snapshotting” that is still in the game.
Snapshotting means using a set of gear to create a “snapshot” of a skill and then switching to a different set set of gear while keeping the benefits from the previous set. I don’t see this happening in the game currently.
If you simply mean switching gear on the fly, that’s neither snapshotting nor an exploit and is actually widely used in many ARPGs. In PoE1/2 having a few alternate gems to switch to on the fly for fighting bosses is a standard practice and certainly not bannable.
Also, FYI, D2 has always had snapshotting and still has snapshotting to this day. It’s part of the game and no one has ever been banned because of it. It’s pretty much the only use for Call To Arms and every single build uses it.
You think it’s just weapon swapping because you haven’t played high corruption, brother. To really understand what I mean, you need to play high corruption.

I actually doubt that, since they actually changed the game last season so that when you switch gear your minions get updated automatically (which was the snapshotting issue that existed in S2).
I find it hard to believe that this happens only for minions and that every other skill gets snapshotted, especially when it never happened before.
And why would you need to play very high corruption to notice this? If this was a thing people would be abusing it even in the campaign and there would be dozens of threads about it.
I’m not talking about minions here, this is specifically for Warpath users. And I don’t understand how the game developers are allowing this. I have friends who play Warpath and can clear Uber in 20–30 seconds, yet they still struggle a lot even at 4k–5k corruption. The devs need to fix this.
If they say using exploits is allowed and you can do whatever you want, then we might as well all cheat in the game. What’s the point of playing then?
Why would snapshotting exist exclusively for warpath?
Unless you can show the devs how it works (and you should do that in private to them, either via the ModMail bot in discord or the in-game report tool), then there is nothing to fix.
I’ll press X to doubt that this is actually a thing. There isn’t a single post on reddit or the discord server about it. And an exploit existing would certainly be on reddit 5 minutes after being found out, as happened with all previous exploits both for LE and for other games.
Because they think the exploit is just a snapshot, and they believe that’s normal. Of course, most people who think they know are wrong. As I said above, when you change all your items, your damage and defense multiply. If you have 100 million damage, it can go up to 1 billion or more. That’s not a snapshot—that’s an exploit (a hack).”
