I’m surprised there aren’t more posts on this because the Blessing system is REALLY poorly setup and I’m done fighting it.
Currently, players are encouraged to farm low-level timelines on the off-chance they MIGHT get an upgrade to a blessing which isn’t even shown to them in-game - who designed that nonsense?
How about we
a - show the blessings available to players even if they don’t have them because having to Google it is dumb
b - spread Blessings out so that the timelines with the ‘droprate and other junk’ blessings are worth playing again (given a lot of these pre-date COF, some are probably defunct but at least spread them around a bit - variation is fun)
c - GUARANTEE an upgrade to the blessing you’re using based on corruption - so completing a boss at higher corruptuon than before guarantees a useful reward and getting to a specific corruption = guaranteed max (for your current blessing)
I cannot imagine ANYONE finds having to repeated kill a boss in a low-corruption timeline which offers NOTHING else they need on the off-chance they MIGHT get an upgrade to something they cannot get ANY other way fun or rewarding?
p.s. that LOWER level blessings to what you have are also offered is just a bug isn’t it - no-one is that dumb?
Hard disagree, because I prefer a discovery process in games rather than having all information upfront. I don’t want to read guides or have extensive databases listing every information upfront in the game.
I’m disappointed in those blessings as well, except maybe for the gold or exp one, though I wouldn’t change them into direct character power necessarily. It never felt at all like it makes a difference picking them.
I’m in favour of having a simple upgrade option where you can choose to improve the blessing a bit each time you beat the boss when you pick the ‘keep blessing’ option.
Why would you farm low corruption? You want to farm at least 200c so you get the 5 choices every time. And there really is no incentive to farm low corruption. Might as well farm at your regular corruption and get good items while doing it.
And the higher your corruption the more stability you get per mono, if you are trying to minmax a blessing getting 200 stability from a single echo goes a long way to bum rushing those bosses.
or alternatively, use the temporal stones, either way, this thread is a lmao.
Yes farming a 100% power blessing is quite difficult, getting a “nearly perfect” is pretty easy, and I feel like blessing farming is over fairly quickly.
I’m just going to add that 200 is what I would consider ‘low corruption’ for these purposes
If you’re just burning Temporals to farm a boss it makes sense to do this at the lowest level which gives 5 results - the fight is quicker and there’s no other rewards you want anyway -
there’s no suggestion corruption influences the ‘size’ of a Blessing so…
The time you save on the boss fight doesn’t make up for the time you lose because of gaining less stability per echo to get there.
If you’re just using temporal keys, you’ll quickly run out of them, since the boss doesn’t drop them and only the harbinger does. Although there’s a better chance at higher corruption.
And higher corruption at least has a chance of dropping better items from boss/harbinger, which might be useful for another build (if you’re CoF) or for selling (if you’re MG).
Currently we get 3 options in regular mono, 4 options in empowered below 200 corruption and 5 options above 200. I’d like to see getting 6 options at 300, 7 at 400 and so on and eventually get all options per boss. That should help a bit, but keep it being a slot machine the devs want it to be.
Another note, i would very much like to see changes to the blessings that give increased drop rates, because that’s kind of pointless in the days of item factions. Give us something useful for them. Power creep never ends anyway…
