The Arcanum

Preface - This is not a D3 armory system. With that said, I, and perhaps others, would enjoy a place that saved skill load outs for characters. Not items. Just skills for different classes. Say I have a primalist. He starts as a beast master who runs earthquake bear. at level 100 I get bored and want to try raptors or squirrels. Instead of going back, respeccing everthing by hand, I could save them, and change them on the fly.

The first problem could be that you need to rank back up skills. Solution: once you have, at one point, earned all 20 base skill points, you would not have to. If you have not earned the points yet, path the ones you WOULD take, and have them unlock passively as you venture throu a dungeon or timeline.

Again, not an armory system. Armory = items. I just want to save skill load outs.

Thanks for reading

This bit I think I’m fine with (having skill or passive points allocate themselves via a build plan), it’s the other bit that sounds a bit iffy. If you don’t want to loose the skill points on respec (& at high level it’s only up to half of them & you’ll get them back quickly), just say that.

its more like being able to pre-path your skills since they need to lvl up anyways

That would be fine. I don’t think anyone’s really against that. What seems iffy is:

This makes it seem like you can switch between a level 20 skill to another level 20 skill at will without a downside.

Yup, that was the bit I was fine with.

This was the bit that I kinda disagree with & I would have said that the devs would as well, but mastery respec, so :person_shrugging:

No, you’d “just” be able to respec Skill X at will, but you’d have to level up Skill Y from scratch (or level 10 + skill points).

Yeah, that’s what I actually meant, even though it’s not what I wrote. I meant respeccing something from AoE to ST on the fly.

the second part is just a suggestion. actual developers could come up with a better solution
