but holy hell I am beginning to feel like the fat kid at the end of the line watching the pieces of birthday cake disappear before I get my serving…
I get plenty of all of the other keys farming 350+ corruption, just f all lightless arbor keys… so far the ratio is at least 30 of any of other keys (bastion, sanctum, arena memory) to 1 lightless arbor key…
I say again: RNG is RNG
but… has anyone figured out a “lesser” RNG way of improving your chances of getting the bloody things cause its gotten to the point where i dont even think the dungeon exists anymore…
I know right that same old chestnut, that was apparently fixed, but seems nothing has changed.
Let’s be honest dungeons are just boring anyway.
In all honesty im so bored of the game now, locking new content behind ridiculous RNG, monoliths are still no different even after the spawn point change, because guess what? the map doesnt change.
A really bad patch all round for me, and just had enough of it after a couple of weeks.
Honestly dont think its fixed either - I am not generally an unlucky person when it comes to RNG & I tend to put my head down and grind when I need to but this is just soul destroying…
Dungeons boring…
Well, I never liked Arena (and still dont) and its rewards while improved, havent motivated me to play it anyway…
Sanctum has a very specific purpose so I am totally happy with it - I only run it when I want to make a legendary so I have zero problems with it and doubt I will get bored because I am not running it for anything other than its reward…
Bastion got really really boring fast clearing to earn embers and the reward boosts are so RNG that its just pot luck if a run through is going to turn up anything worth my time… so thats just meh…
Lightless arbor… well, I run it 3 times… the first two seemed simple enough and I have a fair amount of gold stashed away so it was fun seeing the screen fill up with drops… 3rd time on a higer difficulty I miss-timed the boss aoe and died to a oneshot… havent found another key since so who knows - cannot really get bored if you cannot play…
Bored with the game… Well, I’m not bored… but have definitely cut back on my playtime… I think frustration is partly to blame but also I am finding creating new builds less enjoyable - I have my sentinels and rogues, but my mage builds are all crap in comparison no matter what I try… I dont like summoning builds and my shaman was a disapointment… … So I think I need to take a break until some of the older classes get some love…
Sanctuarys_Reaper, your post comes across as really bitter… Why?
This game is still years away from completion (*). 2022 is clearly impossible, and even 2023 looks quite improbable unless they massively speed things up.
Just relax, play something else or enjoy the coming spring weather, don’t burn yourself out before the game is even finished.
Nothing wrong with taking a break.
Personally I haven’t even installed the patch, as it was obvious from the patch preview that there was nothing of interest to me in it. But I have no hard feelings, I still enjoy the forums and will play again when LE is complete, if it ever is.
Or maybe I won’t. In all fairness, I have had a lot of fun for the amount of money I put on LE. Even if I never play again that will still be fond memories.
(*) I use the term “completion” on purpose. The game was “released” in 2019. And 1.0 is just an arbitrary number. I shall come back when campaign is complete and all classes visible on login screen are playable.
(PS) Sorry Vapourfire, nothing to do with dungeon keys. I wouldn’t know as I haven’t been playing this patch, and I wouldn’t play the new dungeons even if it was raining keys anyway…
No bitterness, if you want to put emotion to text, thats fine, something i dont do personally.
I often play other games, Just like on the 14th April i will be on Patch 2.4 of D2r, its not like my gaming revolves around LE.
I want the game to be good, i hope the game is good, but the recent patch is garbage in terms of the heavy RNG for new content, i mean correct me if i am wrong, but Beta/EA are for testing and feedback purposes? hard to do that if you cannot actually play the content thoroughly, no? hence my feedback is, its a bad patch.
I rolled a new Beastmaster 2 days ago, doing last 90 timeline about lvl 78
I have found 5 Soulbastion and 3 Arbor keys probably 14 Temporal Keys
Lol funny thing is I have zero interest in doing any of them. I never have more than 2-3m gold ever so I wont ever run Arbor as you need apparently 40m a run, I did one run of Soulbastion and that was it
Am already farming 350+ corruption… At what level are you seeing lightless arbor key nodes - I didnt even think that was possible?
Getting no-where near your ratios… I regularly do get Bastion & Sanctum keys from bosses but I have yet to get a light arbor from any of them - quick question tho - are you running this on re-set monos - I.e. you have run an Orobyss to reset the mono tree since 0.8.5? I have started (in the last day) resetting monos to see what happens based on a bug report about arena nodes being reduced in 0.85 but only after resetting the monos and I have been wondering if this is part of my problem as I tend to push mono timelines right to the edge rather than resetting them.
How many of these are you getting in the campaign section while levelling up a new alt? I have heard people are saying that they get a few keys in the campaign even at lower levels…
From my experience, most keys are from spamming echoes(rare mobs seem to have higher chance so always kill them) and quest boss almost always drops a key. I have been killing a lot more in echoes thanks to the bonus stability incentive and I’m killing bosses to grind better blessings and also they help push corruption now. Still this is a lotta RNG
Maybe my luck has just been bad for Arena but not got much from there.
I´m running the Mono till Endboss and after the fight I do the Orbyss and move on to the next Mono - not the corruption pusher
maby helpful to mention - my overall playtime is with farming 100er Monos and levling up new chars in regular Monos - about same amount each - maybe a bit more on the 100er…
Just finished a full 90er Mono and got in total 2 new lightless arbor keys - no soulfire…
Edit: just finished a 100er Mono and got 1 soulfire key…
Ive gone on a rampage of rerolls this week, ive made a Spellblade/Sorc to 75/69 got to the Dragon timeline on them and got bored, reroll a BM and hes middle of the 3rd 90 timeline
I take new characters through all quests until Heobora, kill Yruen and go monolithing at approx lvl 44
ive found 7 Soulfire keys and 5 Arbor keys, I 100% found at least 1 Soulfire/Arbor keys while leveling. I remember tabbing out for a moment while enemies were on screen letting my bear kill it while afk a sec and when I tabbed back in there was a key on the floor and I was on the way to kill the Emperor. I may of found one on my Sorc/SB
Whenever my character has extended periods of bad RNG I start thinking they are cursed with some bad RNG seed, and it was basically proven in PoE this was actually an issue with Delve a side area would not spawn certain items in the loot pool for certain players. I was most likely one since I never found certain Resonators until they patched it, not saying this is happening to you but I guarantee if there is issues going on its due to older characters; im sure new characters find keys often as I am seeming to
Hmm… Seriously hope that this is not some unknown bug with older chars… Dont really feel like starting new alts at this stage but I may have to “test” my luck in the campaigns because your numbers are FAR better drop rates than I am getting… and I am willing to accept a bad run of RNG…
Cannot recall when last I did a 90 mono and I tend to aim for dinging lvl100 on all my chars and/pushing to 300 corruption (when anything/everything can drop)… Seems like based on the feedback here, i need to run some new alts and see if my luck improves on the lower level maps/monos…
Finally got a Light key from killing The Abomination in monoliths…
Then got really lucky with the chest modifiers and managed to snag another 5 keys as bonuses in chests from that one runthrough… It was not cheap and I did decline virtually every option specifically in the hope that the “added key” modifier one was offered…
So it looks like the “best” way to get Lightless Arbour keys is actually from the end of the Lightless Arbour Dungeon in the chest rewards…
