When transitioning from being stationary to moving and back again, there’s some sort of sharpening technique, motion blur, or shimmering effect that’s being applied to textures. I first noticed this on the platform in the end of time on Ultra settings.
It’s most noticeable on the bushes, but you can see from the screenshots that it’s applying to the rest of the textures as well. You can see it well on the character model which looks blurry.
It’s more noticeable in-game vs a static screenshot.
Edit: There also seems to be something going on with the AA… I immediately noticed that ‘something’ was wrong upon loading into the game. Some people are more attuned to perceiving these types of issues than others. I’ve got a buddy who plays with me and he doesn’t notice it unless I show him comparisons and very specifically point it out… for me, I can’t help but notice it. It’s distracting for me and bothers my eyes.
Motion blur, depth of field, screen shake, and head bob are always a no-go for me regardless of the title.
