Terrible rubberbanding!

Posted this in technical support with all the attached information. NOBODY RESPONDS! I like this game but the lag/rubberbanding is RUINING the fun!

Hiring so many employees yet nobody gives a crap to address this massive issue! No point in a cash shop if the the players quit out of frustration with the junk servers!

Heya!

Rubberbanding is still an issue but nowhere near as bad as it was. I have two things for feedback for you

  1. This is more of a bug report issue that should contain details on your skills in use (and on your skillbar if they differ from what you use), what action(s) you are having issues with rubberbanding, etc.
  2. Just because the devs haven’t responded on the post doesn’t mean they don’t care and they haven’t taken notice. They are working on these issues and the rubberbanding occurring right now is at least mainly due to server issues and they are working on that.
  3. It is still beta and introducing more content and/or activities also has a chance to introduce more bugs so they need to come out and be tested also.

The only places I seem to have any rubber-banding issues are around movement skills and entering/exiting new zones. Otherwise I have to be honest and say I haven’t seen that much.

Now, that said, when it does happen on a movement skill, it has gotten me (or come close many times) killed.

That’s my experience as well, just don’t know if it’s the same for everybody.

Thank you for the detailed reply.

  1. I stopped using any dash/teleport skills because I read that to be a problem, and still occurs. I dont believe its skill use though, because its happened mid run on echo’s when not fighting.

  2. I reported this on the technical support section 2 weeks ago, along with the requested logs. It happens across all characters, whether playing solo or with others (I know both are ‘online’).

  3. While beta is an understandable reason for classes not being balanced or finished, the game is unplayable with this lag. My friends who bought the game have given up because of this. The actual game is FUN and looks GREAT, but that is all washed away when the experience is this broken. The servers are almost empty also (Last Epoch - Steam Charts). If there is this much server lag then the game will not function at launch when there is much more interest.

I’m incredibly frustrated right now. This was supposed to replace my Grim Dawn fixation, but this lag really kills it for me.

I got almost 3k hours in GD. Love Crate. Such an awesome game.

#1&#2. I have no idea what you’ve tried but have you attempted to use different servers. As MP just went online little over 2 months ago, the servers are still getting tweaked and worked all the time. Just yesterday some strangness was happening with US-West coast servers. So if it’s really bad, try picking another server that’s really close by, see if it occurs.

It’s a Beta, servers are going to fluctuate a lot especially as they’re working out kinks and stuff. If the game is fun, then just do it casual until 1.0 drops, give it a chance to see how they fix stuff, what they do. Rubberbanding is definitely on their radar as they’ve commented numerous times about working on stuff like that nearly every patch. Plus as already noted, some people aren’t experiencing it as much, actually many people aren’t. So while I understand your frustration, they might deem that at this current time, they’re already got the appropriate resources on it while they also deal with a bunch of other stuff.

Really hope you’ll give the game some change to grow. GD is a game that is on an engine that’s almost 15 years old AND it’s MP was practically non-existent because it was an afterthought, so playing smoothly as it were over a pipeline with very low resource wasn’t as much of a challenge (I remember when Crucible dropped it really lagged a lot and everyone was up in arms. :joy:)

Having played this since Alpha, let me assure you, EHG definitely spins from the Crate Dev environment. They’re very active, very transparent.
