hi guys new to playing but noticed every time I teleport back to town and return to where I was every think is back including the stuff I just killed.
Yup, this has been a thing since the beginning. It was originally flagged as a technical issue with how the level data was stored & that would be fixed/dealt with when mp was implemented, but clearly itâs still here.
One important thing to note:
Compared to other games you might have played, in Last Epoch there is absolutely no reason to portal to town then return in the wild, ever. Selling prices are set extremely low on purpose, you only collect items you want to use. You can craft from anywhere, no need to come back.
In other words, while most starting players (including me, once) get surprised by this âfeatureâ (at this stage it does feel like a feature), after you play for a while it turns out to have zero incidence on the gameplay.
That is not completely true, though. There ARE situations where instanced areas are useful. For example, youâre halfway through a spire or arena echo and have to answer the door or go to the bathroom. If you portal out so youâre safe you have to restart the echo.
Iâll grant you that itâs not something that comes up often, but it CAN happen.
On that note, though, devs are aware of this issue and they plan on having instanced areas, so you portal out and return to the same game state as you left. The main reason this doesnât happen yet is performance and they intend on getting this to work without impacting it. Wonât happen on 1.0, though.
Do you have a source for this statement?
Ill have to check but i think theres a statement about this from a dev on reddit.
Stating having zones reset on port out is not intended
Maybe someone here has a link to it. Hard to look it up while at work
Edit: found it heres the latest comment about this from mike senior dev (think thats him) it is a dev tho
thanks guys wasnât sure why it kept doing it but Iâve stopped going to town now to sell items as well
To be fair, while it wasnât their intention to have it work like this, it mostly affects you on your first character. Very soon youâll stop picking up stuff to sell, especially because arena keys are worth a lot more than any gear you pick up and because youâll have plenty of gold for your needs (not counting gold sink).
this game is so good the map thing yeah it pisses me off, but I donât go to town to sell shit anymore. but I am finding it a bit hard with the gear but slowly working that out.
As already mentioned, if you are in a high corruption map or dungeons (I know dungeons are different), a lot of useful exalteds can drop. In a game where the crafting system is very drop dependent, it sucks you lose your dungeons instance or even have to re-map some of these ridiculously long maps. If the game drops were less frequent, but higher quality, that might help.
PSâŚ. Shameless Plug \ complaintâŚ
The number of dead-ends and blockages in the dungeons is incredibly annoying. I love the overall dungeon ability mechanics, but I spend most of my time trying to get through non-sense that I donât enjoy the dungeons half the time. Itâs even more annoying when chests and shrines are blocked off.
