So interesting update on this. I ran some random echo I don’t recall which one but it wasn’t The Last Ruin and I got the relic drop. Just some random drop no prophecy or target echo. I’m just going to play the game…

I spent pretty much the whole weekend going for the unique relic for the bleed hammerdin build. According to Last Epoch Tools it suggest farming The Last Ruin echo and go for the relic reward. I spent the bulk of my weekend in the echo and no luck. Being CoF I also did some targeted relic prophecies and used whatever runes of ascendence I had.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a minimum corruption level for Valdyr’s Chalice? If so how do I know which items have a minimum?
There are 28 unique relics and 3 set relics. About half a dozen of these are boss-drops, so that leaves us with around 22-23 relics in your drop pool.
This means that if they all had the same chance, you might expect to see one after doing 22-23 of these echoes.
However, the Chalice is a rare drop, so it’s much harder to get. You might have to do dozens before getting it, even though the most likely is you have to do hundreds of them, if not thousands.
It doesn’t. Only dungeon bosses and Shade have minimums for drops. Dungeon bosses have items that only drop at tier 2, 3 or 4, Shade has items that only drop at 200c.
Now, what you should consider is that the higher the corruption, the better your chances are of getting it. So if you can comfortably push your corruption higher without slowing down too much, it’s worth doing that.
