This was patch notes last year
This isn’t the problem with that node and why I don’t use it. In a controlled test on the target dummy my tick damage for consecrated Aura is 1,070,156 before taking the Symbol of Sacrifice node.
After taking the Symbol of Sacrifice node my damage goes down too 940,599
It’s consuming the 5 Symbols but the reason why I’m losing damage taking a damage node is because in the consumption it’s not factoring in the prior buffs Symbols were offering!
The only way this node will be a beneficial node is it calculates the buffs Symbols are providing then adds in the + fire spell damage per symbol in the consumption. Until this happens this node is a damage loss and doesn’t work as intended.
Again to recap
Base damage - 1,070,156
With Symbol of Sacrifice - 940,599
Damage loss - 129,557
So taking Symbols of Sacrifice lowers my damage by 129,557 because it doesn’t factor in the prior buffs. So this node is still unusable. Should be a big damage increase not lose damage.
