Greetings, I couldn’t find any specific feedback addressing this topic, so I’m sharing my experience as a druid, particularly in the swarmblade form, where I’d like to raise an issue regarding gameplay behavior.
The main concern lies in the consumption of Locusts through Swarm Strike. While the mechanic itself is sound, the actual gameplay experience is frustrating. To maintain the swarm strike’s AoE effect, you’re required to consume Locusts. However, Locusts often attack enemies scattered far from my current location. This becomes particularly problematic when I skip an isolated enemy, move towards a larger group, engage them, and immediately intend to utilize Swarm Strike to activate the AoE. However, my Locusts are still attacking a random mob, leaving me with the hassle of spawning new ones or waiting for them to regroup.
Furthermore, in areas with sparse enemy encounters, there are often periods where I run for several seconds without encountering any mobs. This disrupts the maintenance of my AoE and even hinders the ability to spawn new Locusts, as they require nearby enemies to be present. While I don’t mind the AoE’s temporary duration, it’s disheartening to have sufficient Locusts for another Swarm Strike but be unable to consume them due to their scattered positions.
To enhance the overall gameplay experience, I propose the following potential solutions:
• Force Locusts to attack the enemy I’m currently engaged with.
• Expand the range for consuming Locusts, allowing for easier consumption regardless of their location.
• Eliminate the need for specific Locust targeting and allow the consumption of any Locust within my field of view.
Due to these gameplay frustrations, I’ve switched to the Bear form, despite genuinely enjoying the swarmblade form. If these issues can be addressed, swarmblade will undoubtedly become my primary choice for release.
One example combo:
I have found that using the Dive ability can be problematic in combination with the Swarm Strike ability. The Locusts often fail to follow me when I use Dive. This results in a delay or even an inability to use Swarm Strike immediately after using Dive, which can disrupt the flow of gameplay and hinder my ability to effectively clear areas.
I believe that the Locusts should automatically follow me or teleport to my location when I use Dive to ensure that they are always available for use with Swarm Strike. This would eliminate the frustration caused by having to wait for them to catch up, and it would make the Swarmblade form more enjoyable to use.
