Suggestion to reduce regional pricing for Polish players

Hey, since Season 3 is upon us, i decided to give it a try and reached out to EHG, asking them to review regional pricing of both base game and supported packs for Poland, considering it has the second highest converted price in the world.
Though I’ll share my request here as a suggestion as well.

Greetings, EHG,

First and foremost, thank you for creating the incredible game that Last Epoch has become. I’ve been following its development for years and have been enjoying the experience since version 0.9. Your continued support, including the addition of Polish language localization, is deeply appreciated. It’s clear that Last Epoch is a true labor of love, and that passion shines through.

I am writing on my and other polish players behalf, as I’d like to bring to your attention a subject, that has been mentioned on the forums multiple times, especially during last week Season 3 hype: game and support pack prices in Poland.

In May 2024, there was a petition on change.org created describing the issue. In short, Poland despite having significantly lower Purchasing Power has one of the highest (in some cases the highest) steam prices in the world. Few examples:

Last Epoch - Primal Legend Supporter Pack (and other LE Support packs) and Last Epoch Base Game: Poland has the second highest converted price in the world (behind Switzerland). Supporter packs and base game are more expensive here then in Norway, USA, Japan, UK and many others.

To put it in more context, here’s website describing Local Purchasing Power Index by Country in 2025. As you may noticed, Poland is ranked 38, whereas Switzerland is 2nd, Norway 18th, USA 6th, UK 20th, Japan 21st.

This clearly shows that Polish consumers face disproportionately high prices compared to their actual purchasing ability. In a country where wages are significantly lower than in most of Western Europe, North America or Asia, the current pricing model makes it challenging for many players to support the game in the way they would like to.

With that in mind, I kindly ask you to consider adjusting the regional pricing for Poland. Lowering the price would make the game more accessible to a broader audience here and would likely increase both player engagement and support for the game moving forward.

Thank you once again for your amazing work on Last Epoch, and for taking the time to consider this request. We truly appreciate the effort you’ve put into building this amazing ARPG, and we hope to see it become even more accessible to fans around the globe.

See you in Season 3!

You miss one thing from my point of view. What do you think would be a good price range? Afaik the average income is arround 6500 PLN and minimum wage is 3600 PLN. A polish friend of mine said living in poland is dirt cheap and he has a lot of money to spend. So yes if you make minimum wage that’s a lot of money but if you have a half decent job it looks rather fine. I backed LE back in the day for 50 € when I had 250€ to life because I wanted to. That worked out somehow because I wanted it to work out.

So I’m very intrested what you think would be a fair price.

Fair point, although I think the cost of living in Poland depends on many different factors, and it’s not definitely dirt cheap, or cheap for that matter. EU’s GDP per capita in purchasing power standard index alone shows we are way behind the average comparing to other EU countries.

As for the price, I think it should be a reflection of local purchasing power, as it already accounts for net salary.
For example:

  • Japan has a purchasing power of 126.4 (comparing to Poland’s 100.4) and their support packs are 41% cheaper after conversion
  • Australia with 143.8 purchasing power has 25% lower prices
  • UAE has 125.8 purchasing power and 44% cheaper support packs

What would be the fair price for Poland with 100.4 purchasing power? Hard to say, but lowering the price to one of previously mentioned countries would be already a huge step for us (although it’s just a wishful thinking).

Well googeling it shows a different picture on average. Like 47% less cost of living then in the USA. Averages are always relatively bad to compare because i guess there are a lot more rich people in the USA then in Poland but what do I know  .

I’m all for fair prices but there is always a point of view. If a company makes a product for a certain cost they need to make money. If you want to buy stuff without a lot of money to spend this looks always bad.

I’m on the consumer side of things and I guess getting good products relatively cheap is a good thing but reality isn’t allowing it. There is a reason why a lot of people import stuff from china or produce there  .

I’m not a pro when it comes to this and try to follow what I would call common sense. Maybe our trusted accountant @Llama8 has some insights we/I miss. So far and with the numbers Google is throwing at me it doesn’t look that bad like games that has been sold in Brazil that cost half of a months income back in the day ^^.

If the average cost of living in Poland is 53% that of the US, but the average salary is only 40%, then that means it’s more expensive in Poland.

So in short take the averages of all states and how expensive the games are there and look if polish players pay to much and reduce it accordingly? ^^

Pretty much. Though as Saif3r said, purchasing power would be a reasonable proxy if you didn’t want to spend much effort on it.

I’m still intrested what people think would be a good number  . In my finacial situation for example it’s stupid to buy anything that isn’t completely nesessary but I still manage it somehow. On top of it if you buy a game that is worth thousands of hours of entertainment I have a hard time to put a fitting price tag on.

Sure I could say “Right now I would be okay if LE was at 20 quid because the game isn’t worth more to because i think it suxx big hairy ballz.” but that would be unrealistic.

People in hard economic situations that spend money on “frivolities” (please notice the quotes :stuck_out_tongue:) will always happen. But you likely know you make the effort because the prices are based on the average economic power of your country, not your particular situation. But the average person in your country will be able to buy a game somewhat regularly, even if some have to make an effort to do so occasionally and it counts as a luxury.

Which doesn’t appear to be the case for Poland, at least for LE supporter packs.
