I recently spent some time acquiring fractured crowns for a high mana spellblade or sorcerer build I wanted to put together. After some time and after 4 fractured crowns in, I finally attained one that had decent enough rolls to be considered in a build I wanted to develop for the endgame- an archmage meteor sorcerer that has over 1k mana (thus far on gearing).
Yet I quickly realised that trying to regain my lost mana with the current focus was, for lack of a better word, suffering. I would channel for over 10 seconds and barely see my mana bar moving up. Other than my suggestion that the burst mana node (4 points investment for 20 mana burst) is completely irrelevant for my build, but at this time, high mana stacking builds are sort of alienated from the game because focus does not scale with maximum mana.
At the very least those nodes could be changed to a percentage value of maximum mana. At this point, I don’t even see any way to build a high mana sorcerer with this item until focus is addressed in some way, hopefully in the next balancing patch.
Surely others have some suggestions but as it stands, I think high mana builds are slightly alienated because of a combination of this mechanic, mana regen affixes being so little return for investment even if put on every possible slot as well as T5. I feel like I can’t really progress on making this build because this fundamental problem is too big to overcome before I even start.
I’ll just leave this here and maybe other players also have some input.
