Suggestion: pet gold pickup

Disclaimer: This suggestion is inspired from Diablo 3.. The following idea has 2 parts.

Running around to pick up gold is fun at the beginning, but gets a bit tedious rather sooner than later. Since LE has these nice pets that basically don’t do anything, why not make them auto-pick up gold?
While you fight this bad-ass boss, the pet can collect the 3 stacks of 22 gold dropped by the minions. At least, people will have an incentive to use the pets, to farm them, buy them or whatever.

Taking it one set further: something that I’d really like to see is for pets have a gold-pick radius based on its level. Bare with me on this one.
You first select one pet and, pretty much like each skill tree, it starts at level 1. It’s pick-up radius is quite small. This means it will only pick up gold that drops close to the character.

The more gold it picks, the pet levels up. The higher its level, the higher its pick-up radius. In about 7-10 days of game time it can reach a level where it picks up gold on almost the entire screen.

Plot twist: changing the pet resets its level, pretty much like the skills get resetted if they are respect’ed.

Mention: the pet’s speed should not be higher than the character’s speed. This means that if the screen is full of gold, it’s better for the player to pick up half the screen worth of gold while the pet picks up the remaining.

2nd mention: pet should only collect gold. The vaccum effect for the shards is lovely so no need to touch that.

I don’t think forcing players to use pets is a good idea. For myself I dislike the concept of non-combat pets overall. For example I have a pet from the alpha supporter pack that I would never use for this reason. Being punished for not using a pet in this instance would not feel good imo.
