There might be reasons for this but it feels weird to me that Gambling is mostly obsolete once you hit endgame. I personally would love Gambling for a chance for Exalted Items! thats all ty for great game
You sort of have this with Soulfire Bastion dungeon.
Gambling used to be a lot more powerful, but they nerfed it into the ground and replaced it with the soul gambler in soulfire bastion.
Personally, I am ok with gambling being very weak. Gambling for an extended period of time is very boring and I am happy that it is not a viable way of getting items.
The only thing I would change is the speed of the rolling rarity animation.
Yeah, the Gambler you meet in Last Refuge and follows you to the end of time is really now designed to only be for campaign. Itās a great way to fill gaps without needing to perfect your items because you want need them by the time you start end game stuff.
Thatās why Soulfire exists. For someone who wants the same āexperienceā as it provided in campaign, you go there for it.
I think itās actually a good decision. I DO, however, think Soulfire needs a bit more to it, than just gambling and the three potential uniques you can get from the Soul gambler though. Right now, it sort of feels like the ābastard step-childā of the dungeons.
I sort of agree.
One thing worth mentioning is that soul gambler is also a fairly good way of targeting exalted drops of a specific kind, some of which are not available as monolith rewards or through temporal sanctum.
Iām still in the āif there is a gambler make it worthwhile or remove it!ā camp. A gambler is a money sink and we have soulfire for this. The things you can gamblefor at the gambler are so bad he wouldāve had a knife in the back 500 times already for only giving out trash not even worth to resell ^^.
Yeah, given heās not useful after campaign they could easily work in a small story bit where he either decides to head out into the void to find his fortunes or decides to pack in his trade and help the grumpy guy with the knock knock joke work on his stand up routine.
The last time I gambled was to test if they realy removed the only thing that made the gambler usefull. I NEVER had the need to gamble for anything at any point anymore. itās completely useless and gambling for items in the campaign are first world problems because there is no need for theat either because the campaign is done while sleepwalking.
Iāve leveled about 40 or so characters since MP. And there have been times where Iāve wanted a better weapon or another piece because Iāve decided to redo something else, and I just hop over to the gambler, gamble for a half dozen or so, pick one I like, forge it. And get back to things.
I think it has its uses, even if minimially, in campaign and itās not hurting anything being there during the campaign. But I definitely donāt think he needs to be there once you get to endgame.
I only use the gambler when I need a stockpile of items for a binge Rune of Ascendance sessionā¦
That too, actually. Yeah. Same.
Ahh yes i did not even think about Soulfire Bastion. I spend most of my gold on stash tabs (dont judge i got 7 chars haha)
But yeah you are totally right, Bastion is a great extension of the gamling system!
