Suggestion: I would like to see a Cycle Journey similar to those in other ARPGs

I think it would be a good idea to add a journey with minor cosmetic rewards or titles(if added). Something that just rewards players for achieving certain things within the game. Just look to games like POE. D3/D4, Torchlight Infinite and even Warhammer 40k: Inquisitor Martyr for examples of how they can be implemented.

Other than the obvious rewards, they can be used to help new players stay focused on goals and what to do next.

PS: I searched the category for similar threads with the word ‘journey’ and came up empty.

Isn’t that just another name for a soulless cash grab season pass?

Feels like the OP is talking about something closer to Diablo 3’s season journey (example) or Path of Exile’s challenge rewards (example).

Those are different from season passes (Path of Exile’s season pass is called Kirac’s Vault Pass, for example).

So while IMO it’s still a bad idea, it’s not suggesting season passes.

I’m good with them improving and building on the core game systems. One mistake D4 did was go for power creeper season themes instead of making basic systems like global chat and leaderboards (among other things). I would like guild support thou here. It makes the game more sticky for casuals who just like to hang and chat with friends.

Make sure to have the season journey give out a full set of gear like D3/D4 too!
(Please don’t)

I dislike those passes because they force me to play content I don’t want to play when I want whatever goody coming from it.

Yeah I don’t know why they are bring that aspect of it back for Diablo 4.

I utterly detest any form of time-gated rewards which people then can’t get anymore.

Which includes season passes, the challenge rewards only available once and so on and so forth.

If you’re a collector it creates FOMO and causes people to play unhealthy amounts of hours which would otherwise without stress be put into important situations in life that are left on the side.

If EHG implements something like that it’ll be a major negative mark for me at least. Much like monetary gambling of any sort (loot-boxes fall under that) I’m of the mind that such business practices should be forbidden.

D3 brought them back in rotation.

LE already does it with Twitch drops right? Plus they could bring them back for a price in the shop if it was an issue.

Collecting in games these days simply isn’t what it used to be.

Sadly all too true, doesn’t mean I need to like them or will just brush over it when it happens.

And yes, the twitch-drops are something which has had a bad taste for me as well.

At least it’s nothing progression wise in any way… which more then enough games still do nowadays sadly.
