As some one who is colour blind differentiating item quality based on colour at a glance is almost impossible, the items should have their quality written on the tooltip for a start, secondly Diablo 3’s system of placing easy to identify symbols on items based on their quality in place of a colour is an easy work around.

Make a filter, change the color to one you can see for items you want, and EMPHASIZE it. Cant miss em that way.
I’m red/green/brown colorblind, but purple/blue/pink also give me issues. I havent had much issue, if any at all really compared to other games (COUGH POE YOU WHORE WITH YOUR FUCKING COLOR SOCKETS COUGH)…ahem.
There are also many different types and they would need to implement each one to not alienate anyone and get some PR issue from little Timmy who died to naughty Orobyyy.
without going into too much detail associating a specific coulour with meaning is extremly difficult for me and thats why my suggestions move away from colour based systems altogether

Huh…first person I think I have heard that from, but I can relate.
Poinsettias and X-Mas in general with all the green/red being throw around like it’s going out of style reallllllly mess with my eyes. One color pops out then the other pops out and it just loops that way. Only way to get rid of it is look somewhere else that isn’t plastered red or green.
As someone who struggles to see enemy and boss abilities/telegraphs due to colourblindness, I have complained about this several times and was told it’s not a priority as they have more important things to do.
So we just have to muddle through with what we have.
thats a shame, im still new to the game, so i hope they find the time at some point before release

You hit the genetic lottery on that one…if there was a lottery for getting the 2x recessive X chromosomes from your mom. Your mom, as colorblindness is sex linked from the mother, must be heterozygous recessive on both her chromosomes for color if she is not colorblind herself. Something like Xx, Xx or xX, xX (recessive and dominant) or hell XX and xx and you inherited both recessive alleles. 1 in 200 women compared to 1 in 12 men are colorblind, a ridiculously small amount because women have the extra X chromosome, which, if dominant, will cover for the colorblindness…but would still make her a carrier with the potential for her future offspring to inherit.
Sorry…BIG TANGENT. Genetics was my favorite of the bios even tho it was absurdly hard for a 3000 lvl course. As much as you like math (evil) I love me some science.
