Suggestion: Allow character damage scaling to increase Reflected Damage

There are sources of “% damage Reflected” on armor, shields, idols and a unique relic.

At some point, the game has to calculate how much damage to reflect back to the monster based on your total % reflected, and it would be better to also insert the character’s damage scaling (increased damage from passives, gear and blessings) to the reflected damage, as that would make for interesting build options.

This should treat the Reflections as “your hit” so that on-hit effects can also trigger. Or at least, it should allow Leech to work off the reflected damage.

For the devirsity of builds, I hope so !

Would love for a thorn build with reflective damage.

Need those votes!

I agree, this would make stacking damage increased affixes in monolith more interesting. (if reflected damage depend of the hit)

thorns is hard to get right because if its too dominate then it lead to feelsbad feelings and asking your self why would i play the game when i can walk through the game. I think the better way to do thorns is with an active skill like rebuke and retaliation.

Manifest is also a problem because whatever thorns you have manifest armor does it better and safer. I guess that could be specifically tuned down to have 1/x effectiveness of reflect mods.

With all this being said I do think this would lead to more interesting mechanics and decisions. It would just mean more balancing of the base amounts.

Yeah, as it stands right now, minion reflect feels bad in terms of damage, since minion reflect got nerfed a few patches ago, and trying to do self reflect is Much less in terms of damage scaling, and really… all reflect affixes, and skill effects/interactions are useless to build around, or invest into in its current design implementation

The problem with Rebuke is that it doesn’t work for Bosses, as it does not factor in the damage it takes, it merely adds a flat +20 for each hit, which is great for trash mob packs, but horribad for bosses, making it an unusable skill overall.

If Rebuke were changed to reflect a % of the damage it mitigated, then I’d say you’re right about item-based Reflect scaling.
