You start at randomized map without items at all. Enemies near you are pretty weak, so you can farm some items. But as you go furher from starting point, enemies become stronger and stronger, until they will absolutely impossible to beat. So you will need to constantly weight the risk, walk along the edge - I think its a good source of fun! And replayability of this mode would be better, than probably any other end-games modes, because of new items every time.
For claiming reward you must get out before you die, of course. Looting for items will take some time, so it suppose to be kind of hardcore mode.
Im sure there is a bunch of people who would love this mode and for whom it would one of that things, which separate this game from other similar games. Because some people play hardcore, so they want this kind of fun.
My only problem with that is that loot acquisition is one of the core principles of an aRPG & Iām not sure that having a game mode that negates it is necessarily a good idea. Iām not sure.
Edit: I guess one wouldnāt be āforcedā to do it, so, why not? Though people might be confused as to where all their gear went.
I didnt play delirium, but from description it seems like something similar in one aspect. Crucible - kind of, a little bit, but with more freedom.
But actually you can imagine anything you want and share some ideas Its not some finished plan after all, just raw idea.
Ye, maybe. I thought, maybe keep 1 item, if some items can be absolutely critical for some builds. Im a new player and dont know much about builds yet. But we could just run it and test how it goes, than correct something
Sadly this was the biggest problem for many players (me including). PoE is such a fast game and delirium was a hard league in terms of monster dmg. You needed to be really careful about looting (timing and what items do you want to loot) because many deaths came from looting. Also Blizzard realized that. Once there is a endgame mode all about competition (Grift), you donāt want to throw loot around during the rift because you need to focus on killing monsters.
But maybe i didnāt get your looting point yet, in the map or after the map once you realize itās getting to hard?
Donāt get me wrong iām always open for new ideas and i like to read them, i just try to figure out the pros and cons
In my imagination, you can clear some space from monsters and then loot safely. Need to be careful of course, but generaly its not non-stop action, you can rest time to time.
Also this mode not that about competition, more about random adventure, which can be unfair.
