I can’t progress The Scalebane quest.
The Video shows me fighting the extra guys instead of paying the bribe.
The bodyguard just disappears.

Restarted the game and reloaded the zone multiple times.
The last thing is paying the bribe, but that’s all of my money and even then I don’t know whether the gates open or not. But I’m 100.000 gold poorer afterwards.
Today I tried again and just when I wanted to leave the area the bodyguard spawned and I could continue playing the game. You just have to move a bit to the left as though you were leaving.
I also had this issue. It seems to be that if you select the option to pay, but don’t have the money or choose not to do it, it seems to assume that you have indeed chosen to pay and the bodyguard will disappear instead of fight you. You can bypass it by paying the sum, but if you don’t have the money you’re stuck in the soft lock until you make the cash to pay it.
