Hey everyone. I just started playing this game which i find great in many ways though i didn’t even get to the ‘juice’ of it.
But one thing i noticed in particular about the storyline untill now and thought maybe it could/should be better. I find it kind of hard to keep up in which era i am, which part of an area, which quests to follow(are important) and which are not. The interections between the characters i meet seem kind of plain also due to lack of communication. I find it kind of boring just clicking on text(which often i don’t have patience to read) and would really love to hear more of their voices and maybe that beside text they also talk and say the things you need to do in the campain. Putting more accent in the dialogue, the voices that characters have, maybe put an accent on the name of different bosses or things you need to find, or places you need to visit and maybe have a bit more cut scenes with interactions between the hero and the monsters we need to kill will take the campain to another level in my opinion.
Does anyone feel the same or is it just me?
I only have one input here, and that is to say that pretty much all quests are important. I know only one or two don’t give either passive points or idol slots, all others give either one or the other, or both.
Thanks, that info is very good to know
I have over 1,100 hours played, and I’m a little embarrassed to admit I have no clue what the story is about.
That’s exactly what i’m trying to point out. It’s very good that they focus much on the endgame, so we get a lot of stuff to do when the campain is done, but for me personally, for a game to feel complete, the lore, story and campain has the same value . Hope we will get some small changes that could do a lot in understanding what to do in the game and why we do it
To be honest AmorphiZz, I don’t feel its for lack of a story, I just don’t pay any attention. I’m just one of Pavlov’s dogs. I play these types of games strictly for the leveling/builds/loot.
Even if I was interested in the story, I’d only be interested in it for one play through.
Don’t forget one thing: the game is not finished yet.
At the moment, EHG focuses on gameplay. When gameplay is done, they will be able to do the voice acting, the cut scenes, etc. Till then, as some little elements may change, there’s no point in doing all that. Those things, that are very expensive to make, must be made at the very end, when the game has its final (or at least release) shape.
Yes, many are looking mostly or only for the endgame content, so this might be a little personal issue. I don’t mean that there is lack of story, just a lack of way ‘to make it shine’ or to make a player remember it or pay attention to it. I think if the characters ingame would talk more about a bosses name or a places names or just pop of and make better remarks about the places you go through it would make it much easyer to remember or to ‘echo’ them into our brains…
Yeah, I had to force myself to actually read the story text. I’m not sure one of the USPs of an aRPG is the story.
Well, they should not force anyone go through the story endless times if they do not wish that, but on the other hand it should not feel that you need to force yourself to understand the story if you want to. Should be a bit easyer or more pleasent to do it hehe. I strongly believe that more dialogue, some sound effects on the places you go through and some nice cinematics at the end of each act or even mid act before some bosses(that could be skipped with a button, not forcing anyone to look if they don.t want to) should do the trick imo
I just hope they do, cuz so far i have nothing to complain about it. Looks good and feels good, and i gladly let the ones who are really good and play a lot to comment about the ballance and gameplay. I just hope for the best haha
Someone you don’t know gives you something and the whole world turns to crap.
Basically. More or less.
Plot twist : you’re the one messing things up everywhere, any time. (pun intended) Apophis is the Oracle, Yulia the forgotten knight, Grael the greenish emperor. And Zerreck ate something he REALLY shouldn’t have at some point. Or maybe got lost in some random dark and creepy subreddits.
Hahaha that sums things up pretty well thanks.
I think Zerrick started playing with some sandtrout and was trying to do a God Emperor of Dune cosplay but things got out of hand.
It’s just like i can see it in front of me
You know when you see a small cute furry critter in the woods & go to pet it? Then you get swarmed by its extended family but, fortunately, instead of getting eaten down to the bone in a matter of seconds you get turned into a human-critter hybrid with the ability to spit acid (totally never happened to me, just 'cause Llamas can spit acid) and an immunity to damage from distance.
That’s normal isn’t it?
Guys?
Have to agree, went to a place to eat the other day, where they had Llamas, went to aproach them, trying to be nice but they just satt down and ate some grass, chewing and chewing, swallowing it and vomiting it back into their mouths and continue to chew, while looking at me like they wanna murder me
Yeah, I can relate. Though personally I’ve never vomited food back up to continue chewing…
