While playing my Storm Totem Shaman I noticed that when I had gotten the Eternal Storm node that it was never happening. I would visably see enemies get frozen and killed from my Avalanche but my Storm Totem (its my only totem) would never refresh its duration or show a buff that Eternal Storm had happened. Another issue ive noticed is that even if Storm Totem was to refresh, the skill doesnt attack enemies that enter its range after being placed. If I was to place the Storm Totem and during the 8 seconds kill the enemies that were in range but new enemies spawned, the Totem would just sit there and not attack any new enemy that spawned or entered its range afterwards. Im not sure if it matters, but I would spawn the Storm Totem and use Eterras Blessing to buff it.
The main thing I wanted answered are two things
1: Is Eternal Storm bugged or does it not work with my setup?
2: Does Storm Totem’s range function as intended with having to resummon to attack new enemies that enter its range afterwards, even if its still up from its prevous 8 sec duration?

I had your same experience and concerns with this build just few days ago, at least about the Eternal Storm passive, and from what i’ve read about online seems to be intended to not work, because it’s states “when YOU kill a frozen enemy”, so the shaman, but i’m really really disappointed by this. My fault i didn’t paid attention to it before, totally, but i was building around it because i assumed it was intended to work with totem, and for a simple reason, it doesn’t seems to me to have any sense otherwise. I’m not an expert player, but from what i got from the game these years, the more you go deep in a build, and the more you level up, the more the game kinda asks to specialize in what is your dmg and the flavour of your build to be viable, and as i know, player dmg bonuses and minion bonuses exclude each other, so you have to specialize in one way or another, so what’s the point of a passive that goes against the kind of build that is supposed to be used with? if i want that node means i want to focus on totem and minion dmg, but i’m asked to kill myself so means i have to get good dmg to my spells too; but if i have to be able to kill things myself with spells i wouldnt use totems or minions, so what’s the point of this? I don’t know, i got really disappointed by this and mybe i’m just venting, but this literally made me entirely loose interest in the storm totem build i was using and drop the game for now. Was going to post the same on steam forum and probably still will, just in the hope that someone can eventually explain me that i’m getting something wrong and this has some sense, or the developer can say something about it too.
Bump, confirmed not working with avalanche + storm totem build. No buff, heal, or duration refresh on frozen kill.
The skill is either entirely bugged OR the storm totem is killing every single frozen mob with a small tick of damage but I find that hard to believe when my avalanche is critting for 4k lvl 73.
If it is the case that storm totem is stealing all my frozen kills the passive needs to be re-worked as it’s entirely useless. Nearly build breaking bug as described above and needs to be addressed.
Also confirm, Eternal storm does not refresh Storm totem timer when i kill frozen enemies. Made sure my character was killing and not the totem and did not refresh.
