Which puts pressure on the people wanting to play MG. After all CoF is then with guarantee ‘superior’… which plainly spoken… unless you’re a short-term player it already is.
So that would mean people once again ‘optimize the fun out of the game’ picking a faction they disliked just for it being better to progress in.
That’s exactly what the factions are supposed to avoid, they’re split so both sides can feel equally valued, EHG just does a really bad job at that
Then what would be the point in having The Weaver’s tree available to MG players?
If imprinting items worked simply like when it was bugged, Weaver faction wouldn’t belong with neither MG or CoF combined… It would require, at least, that it was a whole separate faction with it’s own means of target farming stuff.
This is not true. The price of red rings is still maxed out at cap. Everyone in trade can open up search and see this for themselves. So, having more available did NOTHING to trade. Bruh, this argument is beyond disingenuous.
The exploit affects all items equally. Red rings weren’t the only ones being exploited.
So if all items are being printed and red rings are still the strongest and most rare, why wouldn’t they still be the most expensive?
The price of desirable and meta items has little to do with supply when you have rampant inflation.
That would be true if it weren’t for the many many shortcomings of MG.
First, you have the fact that most people sell items and never check if they sell it or not. They list hundreds of items in the hopes some sell and the dozens upon dozens that don’t sell never get relisted. So this is one of the resons why prices increase. Also, the process of re-listing is very painful, so barely anyone bothers doing it.
Second, you don’t have a reliable price checker. So you see a bunch of red rings for 1B, you sell your red rings for 1B. Even if dozens of those red rings aren’t being sold. And even if yours isn’t sold either. Because you won’t relist it, due to the first point.
Third is that there is no significant gold sink. So overall gold will continue to increase every single day. So prices continue to increase every day. This means that there are lots of uniques that are at gold cap price, even though there are hundreds of them available.
And once inflation rises enough (which it probably won’t because of players leaving for the season and many also switching to CoF because of said inflation), red rings stop being listed altogether, because you can make the same money (gold cap) with less rare items, so you sell those instead.
No that isnt why. People brought this up because a huge junk of players thought this was working as it was ment to. Including streamers. Most players didnt see the way it was working before as bugged. Its also the timing of it as u will see below
Ok ao it was actually bugged. Got fixed. What i do not agree with is fixing it a month into a season. This should have been caught and fix in the CT which had access to season 2 patch since November 2024 devs say they play thier own game. Which means it should have been caught by a developer as well. Which makes u think are they truely playing thier own game. At this point i doubt it.
Fixes like this should be done right at the start of a season 1 week in not letting it slide for a month of a season. Notice how many months went by with out this being fixed. It obviously wasnt that important to fix 1 week in or fix before season 2 dropped. There is zero way no one in CT didnt catch this including devs.
With how imprinted items where dropping pre 1.2.3 patch it would have been dead obvious imprinting wasnt work as intended by the CT especially the devs. Had this actually been tested. Looking back and thinking about how my imprinted drops where before the patch. Tells me it was clear as day it wasnt working right. All it would have taken is for an imprint to proc a couple of times and it would have been clear as day its not working as intended
EHG imo should have come out and said we messed up imprinting heres how its ment to work. We will leave it as is in season 3 this will work as intended. Some of the other bugs imprinting had imo during a season are fine to fix. .
Not everything like this should be fixed a month into a season. Same for balancing example entangled laser. Got nerfed. That should have remained as is and gotten the nerf in season 3.
Exactly i agree. Id also say this is one such fix that should have happened in the first week of the season. Not a month in. Even balancing like nerfing entangled laser. Should have also been left alone and nerfed in season 3. Seasons imo need to keep an integrity to it. Cant have that if a month in balancing pass happens and messed up loot chase gets fixed.
Yup im one of these people. Tbh no shame in that. Iv always struggled with getting my thoughts put into writing. Tbh theres been plenty of times on this form i wish i could just speak face to face cuz i can speak what im getting at better than i can in writing.
This is not quite accurate. I’ve had red ring imprinted for a few days and only ever got single red ring drops from imprints procing. What it actually did was drop a pile of rings, all rares usually, and rarely one of the rings in the pile would be a red ring. Maybe two at a time if you got really lucky, but I doubt more than that would happen as red ring being really rare affected the print success rate.
In most cases people wouldn’t even notice those rare rings because everyone plays with a filter that would hide them.
Now, for all we know, some of those failed rare rings just can be other uniques and nothing actually changed for red ring, and people are throwing a fit over nothing. It’s also possible it’s somewhat worse, but I still see people claiming they get red rings from imprints so it can’t be by much.
So the conclusion I’m leaning towards is that it only feels worse because the inaccurate failed prints have become a lot more noticeable. Subjective perception plays a big role in the reception of RNG, and people on average are notoriously bad at approaching it rationally.
Not according to their dev. It was nerfed significantly.
The biggest issue is imprinting does nothing really now.
Need a bunch of base types? Imprinting doesn’t do that.
Need specific affixes? Imprinting doesn’t do that.
Need a specific unique w/ better LP? Imprinting doesn’t do that.
Source? I haven’t seen any dev statement on the subject, beyond what is said in the patch notes which doesn’t clarify how specific outcome chances are affected.
It does the first two well enough. Usually not perfectly, but more than enough to make good progress towards what you want when combine with crafting. Can’t attest to last one as I’m hunting for a 4LP unique right now and that will obviously take a while, even though it’s a common one.
