I think the game is absolutely screwed now. The blowback is massive and there is nothing they can do to turn profitable AND please enough people. I’m curious what percentage of current steam downvoters would have still downvoted if it was paid expansions instead. I think it would still be a fairly high number.
I’ll keep playing it but I honestly have never loved the game. I find monos to be boring compared with the POE atlas and even TLI’s endgame. And I don’t like how they feel that they need to jam more and more stuff into monos to try to make them interesting. It makes you feel like you shouldn’t skip anything when maybe you just want to progress the mono.
LE has been a buggy mess for years. If that were a reason for it taking a hit on steam reviews you’d be seeing consistent negative reviews but last time I checked (& it was a very brief look), it was generally positive untill the cluster fuck that was Krafton/paid classes. Unless I’m wrong & there has been a consistent amount of negative reviews over the past few years.
Sadly EHG announced everything the wrong way. The posted at last that there are finacial issues after things went south already. This should’ve been the first thing to do. Then they made a poll about something trivial as mid season patches but not about what people like to have monetized the most?
As I said many times… communication and openess have been a strong suite of EHG but sadly it seems like they lost it completely.
