Steam Deck: device stuck on loading screen

I was trying to resolve the issue with the map boarders no loading, so I was trying to run my Steam Deck on Proton 8-30, 8-32, or Experimental.

When I try to load into the game (at the character select screen), I click continue, and then I am stuck on the loading screen.

Other details:
-game loads fine if I don’t try to force a proton version, but then the map boarders dont load if this was resolved, I wouldnt have any issues at all

-I have tried verifying my game files, reinstalling, new characters…nothing seems to resolve this

I found it works if I force load version 6 of proton.
