Steam cloud sync issues

I have recently been having lots of issues with steam cloud sync. I play on a laptop during the day and a desktop at night, both Windows 10. My character progress has been consistently lost when I go back and forth on devices. The only way to ensure my progress is saved is to export my registry entries for LE and import them on the new PC before I play. I’d say it works via steam sync maybe 20% of the time now. I haven’t had this issue since steam sync was released.
