Stabbing blast doesn't feel great or might be bugged?

I don’t know if this is a bug or if the description is bad, However the behavior from stabbing blast is not what I was expecting based on the skill description. It doesn’t seem to have any enemy targeting. The blades explode in seemingly random directions. They don’t appear to target enemies just exploding in a star shaped pattern. I do see that the description says a different enemy per blade, however, I would expect the blades to be divided between valid targets in range.

Basically while this node may be working as intended, it does not feel great. (Doesn’t feel like an upgrade in functionality). The targeting doesn’t seem to work as I’ve had explosions where the blades didn’t seem to target any nearby enemies, which at least 1 blade should have targeted. (this is in the wild not vs the target dummy which is not an enemy).

This is especially disappointing because I was planning to take the umbral remnant node where shadows drop a dagger where they are, well most shadows will be near the player unless you reposition but the daggers don’t seem to last in the ground very long so repositioning a lot isn’t great. The idea had been, Oh cool, I’ll have some shadows generated around me, and they’ll drop daggers, and those daggers will target nearby enemies, but given that this doesn’t seem to be the case I’m not sure I’d want to take the time to invest in that.

Update: I included a video of the behavior, where I throw some blades near an unagro’d enemy and they don’t target him while he’s standing still.

Last edit:
I realized I didn’t really give feedback for what I was hoping for from this node. Personally with the current behavior I don’t actually see a use case for this node. It doesn’t do anything that I can’t manually do easier with targeting. As an AOE node it fails because I could simply spread my attacks out when throwing the daggers out. As a single target node it also fails because it doesn’t focus all the knives on actual enemies, it diffuses most of them off into nothing. I was hoping for better enemy targeting focusing my blades on nearby enemies, this would be better for AOE because If I spread out my daggers in a large area it could then focus them on enemies near those areas. If I was fighting a single target I could focus on the single enemy, which currently with the withdrawl of blades is much easier. So with its current behavior I’m giving up a big chunk of ST for no real increase in AOE. but if the blades homed properly and were focused into nearby enemies, I would have better AOE and not a catastrophic loss to single target damage. Also, Yes I just picked up the umbral remnant node, and the tracking distance on daggers that are near your player from shadows is abysmal. I was really hoping dropping a bunch of shadows for extra blades which homed in on nearby enemies would be a cool build, but it doesn’t seem like it given the poor tracking.
