I decided to finally try out the squirrel beastmaster after getting the helmet dropped the other day. The build is bonkers and really fun, but I simply cannot stand listening to the “squeek” sound of these squirrels, and I don’t want to play the game muted. I don’t know if its something you could look into, but having 10 squirrels constantly squeek in your ears makes this build unplayable for more than half an hour until you go insane.
I actually have the same problem with some summons on PoE. Especially the Arena Master and similar ones that are constantly bashing their shield every x seconds, or the zombies that are always moaning. It becomes tiresome really fast.
Wish there was just an option to “Disable summons ambient sounds”.
Ha, I actually find the squeaks refreshing, especially compared to the (I think it is) the Bone Golem from POE, and the ‘someone kicking the inside of a dumpster’ sound it makes.
That would be nice, or at least have it be an adjustable slider, like all the other options. I wonder if it is part of another sound-group that can be adjusted.
After a ton of grinding with my friends, we finally got me the Herald of the Scurry helmet. I was so excited for my build to finally awaken and to unleash havoc, but holy crap are these squirrels an auditory nightmare. After playing with them for a couple hours I ended up with a migraine and it’s still going today. I hate that the only solution is to mute Sound Effects Volume, as that takes away from much of the game experience. I truly wish minion sound effects were their own option so I could lower the slider/mute it entirely.
While the vicious chittering of my minions troubles me no longer (thanks to the insanity), my guildies have mentioned that they’re “a bit much” and sound somewhat like a gaggle of tiny turkeys!
Building on the idea of a slider for minion sounds, it might also be nice if there were two sliders - one for “my minions” and one for “others’ minions”. Can you imagine the racket a party of 4 Squirrel Masters would make!?
The squirrels sound like someone in the sound department used a cassette player and kept hitting rew and ffwd. That noise is what they sound like. Genius if that’s what they used.
A slider to turn them down would be a great addition.
