Spriggan summoned vines?

Do the vines that the Summon spriggan skill summons count as the total companion amount of yourself? So 1 companion being the Spriggan itself and two companions when the Spriggan casts a vine?

I have the same question for the passive notes on druid who give a chance to summon vines and other areas that give a chance to summon vines.

I want to know this so i can skip or include the Natural Duality node at the druid passive skill tree (which says maximum companion limited to one).

Vines are minions but not companions.

If Vines were companions they would have the Companion tag, just like all of the other companions.
