Totems are a very good idea, but currently they lack variety in the way to spec them and efficiency.
I’m currently working on a Shaman, I feel the mastery is very strong but relatively limited to few viable options. Maybe he needs a refresh?
It feels like some talents and spells need a overhaul in general. Shaman is a good example. I mean if i think about a shaman the first what i get in my mind are totems.
Possibly a running totem, that could be something like the enemy shamans in “Drudge Jungle”.
If you take at least half the life force from them, the individual totem sections spread out into many small, running mini-totems.
In this way, you could simply make sure that you can skill the various totem sections differently in the skill tree.
I’m a bit confused because I’d like to see a healing totem, but I feel healing belongs more to the Druid than to the Shaman. Or maybe a Primalist skill, not linked to a mastery?
Decoy Totem (Rogue) has some similarities to a mine/trap, in that it can explode when killed. If EHG added more to its tree around that, it could fill that role. (including multiple decoys in exchange for, say, losing taunt.)
