Spawned in a combat zone, in a party, on a solo character, in a chapter I haven't accessed

I logged out of my character in chapter 3, switched to a level 7 character to get an item (Gambler’s Fallacy), switched back to my character (KelvaraVK on account Xantae) and I’m in chapter 4 outside of town, with other players, despite being a solo character.
