Hello,
I think the visual of the game are well still being worked on, but the sound of attacks an such are lackluster. I’m not sure where in is for the dev cycle the game is but attacks feel not potent enough and it isn’t from numbers, but more the sound is lack luster. I can’t say this is for all attacks as I haven’t tried enough of them, but things like maelstorm, leap, and ice thorns have nothing to them. Maelstorm is like listening to the wind hitting a cabin window from a large distance away and not at all like a storm not to mention it doesn’t play much. Leap kick up large rocks, yet sound like thudding a base lightly. ice thorns sound like blowdarts being shot out from a distance with zero impact. I think these need some much chonkier sounds put on them and maybe have some type of impact or collision noise with mobs.
I agree with some of the skills really needs a new sfx. Would be nice to use skills with good sfx adding impact and satisfaction to the gameplay.
But I also wish the devs would be consistent of the sound level. Some BGM are just too loud or gets too loud (like the Wraith Dunes BGM, where the long bass part gets too loud. And I also made a topic about it before here in the forums). And Harton too for example, since 0.9 his volume got on steroids and went like 500% louder. And more on BGM, I think Ancient Era BGM is way too generic…and probably fits amazonian tribes in forest instead, idk, it just sounds like that to me.
Agree. Some Atracks sound ok many don’t.
But unfortunately this is not an issue of the state of development. Because recently changed SFX aren’t any better. Lightning Blast got new SFX. And they are still far away from being punshy or crunshy or whatever. I also liked the previous Spirit Plague SFX. But EHG changed them for whatever reason to be underwhelming and barely noticable.
I’m not confident in the sound design, to be honest.
Most skills sound lackluster. Some are ok. None is great.
