Soul-bound hc ladder duo/trio/quad

Hardcore isn’t for everyone… But those of us who play Hardcore like it for the risk and reward all carry more weight.

I am wondering how hard and the possibility to add a Soul-Bound function to Caracter creation for Hardcore. My Soul-Bind function would in essence mean 1 player dies and the party is wiped.

One step further would be to create the Ladder for these parties to see how far and well they could place. I think this would create a whole avenue of Synergies and playstyles. I personally have not found this function yet in any of the ARPGs I have had the time to enjoy.

I particularly think that creating this Soul-Bind/Soul-Bound mode would entice new players to try the challenge Hardcore with their friends. I also believe it would add an unseen style of Ladder race.

I firmly believe that this would also put a spot light on LE inside of the ARPG community for the Unique Play experience that this could offer.

Addition:
A Soul-Bound party must all be logged to continue progress.

I’m very supportive of any incentives for group play in Last Epoch, but as I understand it, EHG’s philosophy has been that everything should be solo-able.

I would also be a lot more likely to play hardcore with a group :stuck_out_tongue:

For sure the concept I am pitching wouldn’t change the game itself, only a new type of mode/challenge. The game has been proven to be solo-able for sure from what i have seen on social medias.

I don’t think this goes against it, though. There is nothing to be gained from this for in-game advantage. It’s merely a challenge mode that, at most, has a leaderboard attached to it.

Also, Mike has already said on stream, regarding raid-like mechanics, that if they did something like this they would provide NPCs for players to be able to solo them as well, so it’s not quite to set in stone anymore.

I strongly doubt that this would be the case, but fuckit, sure. I would never do this but i wouldn’t have any problem with it being developed/tested/etc (even though that would take resources away from stuff I would want).

To be fair, and thinking about this a bit more, it wouldn’t be that much work (relatively speaking). It’s not much different from the D3 leaderboards that had 2-3-4 people groups.

It would apply only to arena runs, since those are the ones that have a leaderboard and it would be a group run where anyone dying ends the run.

It sounded more like all players die (the wiped bit) when one does. :person_shrugging:t3: Either way, not my cup of tea, but sure…
