Someone Explain the Egg to Me, Please?

I’ve only seen it once (72 is my highest this season, I’m going slow), and I had no idea what to do with it since the in-game description when you find one isn’t exactly extensive.

Ooooh BOY I did not find the ingame description enough either.

-You encounter the egg. Here are your options:

1: You hit “challenge” and you fight the monster, the egg will drop as a random unique.

2: You hit “empower” and it will become a random unique that gets charged up.

3: You replace the egg with a unique item you own which has no Legendary potential. Fortunately, the item does not have to be on your person. They have included a stash icon so you can input any item in your stash. This lets you add LP or direct legendary affixes ON the unique item that does not have any LP.

*I agree that the tooltip is not very helpful. LOVE this game but when it comes to tooltips, etc, they have failed to hire anyone with basic literature knowledge/common sense linguistics.

That is only one of the possibilities, the other is that it will add one or more affixes to your Unique making it Legendary.

Yes and I’ve found THAT occurs way more than getting LP.

I’ve done near two dozen eggs, at least, and only had one add LP instead of random affixes.

To be fair, I’m pretty sure that’s what he meant, even if his english was a little broken. “or direct legendary affixes” is his way of saying it adds affixes to the unique and turns it legendary. It’s mostly a terminology issue, because there aren’t legendary affixes, so it should be apparent that he refers to the extra affixes a legendary gets.

Thank you.

PSA for anyone like me who came here after finding their first egg - trying to put a legendary item into the egg DELETES THE ITEM!

I’ve never done dungeons and was curious if the no legendary restriction would apply to legendaries acquired from the nemesis, so I tried putting in a legendary from my stash. I thought if it wasn’t allowed, it would just stop me from putting the legendary into the egg, but instead the item completely vanished.

You should report that, since that’s clearly a bug.

No… it doesn’t delete the item. The item you put into the egg is still there. You need to find another nemesis and either empower it, or challenge it… and then you will get the item back with whatever changes the nemesis has made to the item.

Thanks - just made a bug report!

This was not intended functionality. After receiving a suggestion to make a bug report, I have detailed the issue here: Nemesis Egg deletes item it can't accept
