First I really want to emphasize that the simple fact that controllers are even considered is a big thing. Like really big. Big ups to the devs for doing it. Long story short I use a controller mapped to PC inputs as a mouse/keyboard replacement. This kind of thing is very common among disabled gamers for PC games. We use loads of 3rd party remappers as well as stuff like steaminput. We are used to having no controller support and often have super janky/personalized setups to work around any hurdles with games or with disability. Basically there are two main things that need to happen to make LE playable for people like me.

There needs to be an option to turn off auto recognition of gamepad input. Currently any gamepad input will cause the game to auto swap to controller mode. This overwrites any remapping to regular PC inputs done on my end. Its not necessarily a matter of me not liking the customization provided with the game. Its more a matter of disabled people needing lots of random peripherals or input methods. Personally I use an eye tracker for mouse movement so gamepad input alone is not really an option. This brings me to my second point.

Simultaneous gamepad/keyboard input is an absolute godsend. Iāll give an example for this one. I used to play overwatch with a steam controller. The steam controller emulated mouse input with the onboard gyro for aiming. Overwatch had great controller support with one issue, any mouse movement while actively using a gamepad would completely lock the game. UI would flash between keyboard/gamepad inputs and the game is generally unplayable. As a result you need to fully commit to gamepad input or simulated KB/M input. Overall this isnāt nearly as much of an issue as number 1 is, but its still something that makes my life a ton easier.
