Some questions about Lightning Blast mage skill & chain & convergence and spark charge chance

Im playing a runemaster and testing different nodes with lightning blast (LB), could anyone help me understand the detais better ?

When we take convergence all of the damage of chained LB is calculated and shown once, the enemy take only one hit with improved damage ? when I hit the dummy I can only see one hit of LB , only one number of my damage pop up.

Related to the first question, with convergence, each chain of LB count as a different hit, with another 30 % chance to apply spark charge?

if not taking convergence, each chain to a different enemy count as another hit, with another 30% to apply spark charge? What I mean is this, I use LB only one time, and I have 2 or 3 chances to apply spark charge depending of how many enemies it chains ?

No, it chains as usual but can only ever chain to the initial larget. So if you had 8 chains then took Convergence, LB would then have it’s number of chains reduced to 4 & would hit the initial target 5 times (initial hit + 4 chains). You can see the animation of Lightning Blast arcing round and hitting the target several times.

Yes. All on hit effects have a chance to be applied on every hit. Any on cast effect can only be applied once though.

Correct.

Also, to clarify, LE groups damage done in a given amount of time. It hits multiple times, but since the hits are all almost instantaneous, the game groups all the same damage and only shows the total on the pop up damge. If you had some piece of gear that would change the number of chains, you would see the difference in damage.

This is one of those hidden easter eggs that probably confuses a lot of people when the first start to dig into optimizing/understanding. It caught me a LOT early on. And sometimes even still gets me. I’ll be table flipping and then think, oh crap, right, they’re grouping those together.

CURSE YOU!!!
