Some QoL thoughts

I wanted to apply some points of QoL that i wish were the case in the game, things i don’t see talked about much, but also just wanted to post it in a single post, instead of adding like 5 or 6 different posts on the topic. so, i’m sorry for the massive wall of text.


-Please allow for an option, once unlocked, to teleport to the monoliths, faction bases, and end time as separate buttons on the world map.

PoE does this by having small icons on the bottom right of the map that allows you to teleport to these locations. Instead we have to toggle between the timelines and find the location we want, scroll in or out because they dont become clickable at some distances and just locate what we want, when we reach endgame. I don’t want to be rude, but this game’s world map is just bad to navigate. I understand that it serves a purpose, showed the timeline of the lore on the top, even though through the acts we go backwards in time, this is just convoluted and makes it just feel worse. Would also be nice if the monolith was just sort of it’s own world map and just auto centered to show all of the timelines. That’d be nice. :slightly_smiling_face:

-When crafting on items in the forge, when we have our materials open, a small preview of our stats, resistances, defenses, and damage amounts should show on the bottom when we select the stats to be applied to the item. This would be a massive QoL feature while crafting so we’re not constantly having to go in and out of the three different windows while crafting, it’s all just displayed right on the bottom. It could also see the projected change to these stats if you were to equip the item. Mock image: https://i.imgur.com/3v1nCtL.png

-To add to this, when clicking on say, our inventory while looking at our crafting window, it should pop the window on top, and allow us to completely interact with our inventory, incase we want to change items in our crafting window, with everything else changing dynamically. Not sure this is needed, but this is just my opinion. It would make it work quite nicely, instead of having to close the window and reopen it when we change items.

-When “holding left click” in menu, such as scrolling down options, it should NOT move the player despite us accidentally sliding off left click. This is really annoying when trying to find a safe place to sometimes edit something and then you end up accidentally aggroing enemies but you can’t see half your screen.

-The stash could use an option to always show your edited tab buttons when you open it. This is a feature in PoE that makes it really nice to just immediately go to the folder and tab you want immediatley. Instead of having to either open it, or scroll. There should be a check box at the top that says, “Display side folders”. For clarification i’m talking about the “down arrow” button on the right, that shows the folders of your stash tabs. This way everytime you open your stash, you don’t have to open it.

-Minions should have “attack move” as their attack command function instead of “move to location then attack”. Even though we can command minions to move to a location, we should have the option to enable attack move for minions as well. This would help so much for range minions and would help them not feel annoying in earlier parts of the game. To clarify on this, if you tell them to move to a target location, they’ll attack every enemy in their path up to that location, unless you out range them, such as running away from them. This obviously shouldn’t cause them to attack every destructable item in their path, that would be annoying xD.

-The character sheet that shows stats should have the ability to “pin stats”, into it’s own smaller window that displays above your player skill bar, and you can only pin say, 8 stats. This way if you have a particular build that focuses on things like crits, but also wants things like shred chance, shock chance, and uses say block. You can pin all the stats you want to be displayed in a small window that specifically shows the stats you easily want to keep track of. This way you don’t need to hit the little tabs to find the stats and look for the information, you can just set your character to “focus on these”, for QoL. I haven’t seen an ARPG do this, but there have been addons in other games that have done this and it was a fantastic addition.

-When you play an alt that unlocks a faction in the first town, and you have unlocked factions on other another character, you should also automatically unlock the portal to the faction hubs at that moment. Obviously the trying to leave the area should be blocked off because you haven’t done that part of the story, but this definitely would be a big QoL.

-Keys should be a material and go into your material bag. I mean, this is my opinion, I can see why you want keys to be an inventory management item, but at the same time, it makes no sense to just not have them go into the crafting materials storage and display on your inventory window. That’s just my opinion.

-Teleporting to a party member should just immediately attempt to teleport you to them and not force you to drop a portal and click on the portal. This just feels weird.

I’m sure there’s some other things i was thinking about, but can’t remember. I should have written them down… Sorry for the wall of text folks. I’m loving the game, and I hope the game makes improvements because it has so much potential!
