I’ve spent the last half-hour trying to a find a resource to list enemies and their attacks, but couldn’t find any, so forgive me if I have to describe something instead of using the proper names. Anyways, let’s get into these examples of incongruous damage sources:
- In Tombs and Cemeteries, there is the tentacly-weaver enemies that will drop a delayed necrotic/lightning bomb. The visual is also rather easy to miss among packs of erased mobs.
- The Champion Ghost (an ice wolf) uses a form of ice barrage where sequential icicles will apply frostbite stacks that melt you. They also will shred your cold resistance, but even if your cold resist is safe, it’s still awful.
- The poison slugs’ on-death poison stacks. Even two will have you chugging potions.
- Spark Champions’ roaming electroballs. They move erratically and can stack their damage, too.
- Rift Beasts. Generally any of their upgrades seem to have insane (dare I say bugged) damage scaling, including, but not limited to; Icy Whirlwind, Fiery Whirlwind, Lightning Blast, and Lightning Charge.
- Icy Whirlwind is the worst offender, being a very large, long-lasting and spiraling aoe that can stack. And stack very fast depending on the Rift Beast rolls. It will seriously deal over 4k damage per tic at 300+ corruption. After resistances.
I love this game, but it kills my motivation to play when I encounter any of the above far too regularly. It especially makes Bloodline Glade and Rampant Coast feel unreasonable to complete when you have to hope and pray for an easier Rift Beast.
