Feedback about how skills look.
I think most skills are fine. Yet, there are a few things that I believe need to be more visible. It applies to some old skills but also newer ones.
For example, unless it has been changed recently, falconer skills dive bomb and its Featherfall passive. At first I believed featherfall was bugged. It took a relatively long time to notice any change to the skill effect. At first I noticed mobs died that were not hit by that main hit. Only then I knew where to look and finally noticed the very small red flashes that are the featherfall skill effect. I believe you should see all the stuff you are doing.
Another that I notice now that I’m playing it and which basically gave me the idea to make this thread.
Im playing shaman build with earthquake. When I first got the skill and looked for the aftershocks it meantioned, I did not actually realize it was a skill effect and the lines going across the screen were just some bug. Only later I realized those huge lines were, i believe, the aftershocks.
The effect is very inconsistent. A huge line goes across the screen, but mobs that stand on it will not get hit my it. Only ones that are near the main hit seem to get hit by them despite their size. Why are they so enormous? I feel like you should be able to tell accurately where you skill hits.
Also, I use idol that should proc aftershocks on melee hits. At this point, despite playing with it for a while, I can’t say if its even happening. Are the big lines from the main hit so huge due to some bug since I dont see the idol proc any that I can be certain came from it. Yet, as I said, I cant tell if its working or not. The % for proc is small enough that I might just miss it when it occurs.
Edit: I still think the huge lines are actually a bug. Then again, I can’t see where the non bugged aftershocks are.
One more.
While I did not play warlock much and dont have that accurate opinion about it, when you pick the Chaotic Rupture in cthonic fissure skill, its attack is sometimes instead a chaos bolt instead of its normal attack. This difference was easier to see, but I remember sitting there and spamming the skill near mobs to actually see when and how often it was happening. It took time to see the passive proc.
What I’m saying is that it took time to see the change. I believe it should be blatantly obvious.
Which gets me to summarize these examples. There are skills and effects that you can’t tell when they happen. Most are fine, but some are not. Of these some skills, some are easier while others very difficult. Any changes to your skills should be very obvious and I should never get to the point where I have to confirm it even happens and try to search for the effect because I cant simply see it happen.
This is of course just my opinion, but its feedback and with provided examples.
