Level 83, playing with controller, max resists and crit avoidence, good ward generation, glacier sorc so damage is good.
The rest of the game has been a cake walk but I’ve spent 2 hours on the harbringer of fear and I don’t think I’ve even gotten it below 50%.
I can’t dodge the abilities consistently, they’re too fast. Tri beams show immediately. Shock fields collect on the field with no way to clear them acting as a soft enrage.
I don’t see how the gear I can get in normal mono’s is going to make this significantly different. I don’t want to ask someone to fight her for me like I’m an old lady that needs help crossing the street.
I guess I’m just not going to be able to do empowered monoliths? Last season seemed pretty chill I don’t get this abrupt change in difficulty from one boss.
I did this recently on a fairly tanky level 75 Rive/Judgement Paladin. What I noticed was that she has an animation and voice line for the tri beam. She says something like “run!” or “you should run” - something do with running at least - while standing still and raising one arm. As soon as I picked up on that, it became a lot easier to prepare for the tri-beam.
The shock puddles I just ran through to clear them. They didn’t do much if any damage to me. I think they may have a delayed activation, so if you run through them, they’ll explode behind you.
Lastly, you definitely want to avoid her attack that’s telegraphed with a long, orange rectangle. That hurts, although if you’re 100% crit avoid/reduced damage, you’ll probably be fine. Other than that, she just moves around a lot which can make it hard to get damage into her with things like Glacier and Judgement.
Hey thanks for the tips! I’ve tried running through the shock pools to clear them, but they do maybe 200-250 damage each. I picked up on her announcement of the tri-beam like you did, but the tri beam has such a weird hit box and moves so fast that its a struggle to avoid. I can do it on the boss before no problem, but the harbringer has more going on at one time.
The orange rectangle attack happens too fast for me to just move out of the way. The only way I can avoid it is to keep circling her, which is problematic at times.
The really irritating thing is I have to fight the mono boss first again each time I die. I guess I’ll keep at it - thanks again.
