Yeah, I didn’t hear many good things about the first non-Iron Lore expansion for TQ, so I wondered what they were like.
What an interesting flashback this caused… Reminded me of Wasteland 1, (the spiritual grandaddy of the Fallout franchise). I remember exactly this experience with stumbing on an area where my novice ragtag team of desert rangers was most definitely not meant to be and spending literally days reloading saves to reroll encounters (everything was very basic “chance to hit” or “get hit” those days) to kill some dudes with power armour. Technically ruined the rest of the playthrough cause I was obviously OP from when I finally got it but I obviously still remember it and who cares if I rolled over everything else in the game after.
Not very many memories like that in newer games (duh, everythings newer!) where the devs have taken it on themselves to “save” us from ourselves at every turn and worry about a smooth progression curve.

I’m still playing Season 1 of D4 , its far from perfect , but I’m having fun with my barbarian , playing spin to win.
The season is bland , the mechanic adds little to the game , but i like how combat feels, smashing demons in the head and collect loot.
I would love more depth, better itemization , more stuff to do , no renown chases , etc. but at least for me it works.

You need mods to fix them all, there are so many items that dont drop due to poor coding, as well as balancing passes, that make adding mods necessary. I still love the game.
How was the D4 dev stream today? I hope it was good, Exilecon has almost 100k people watching a timer. Obviously praying this is amazing, and lights a fire under the Bliz devs asses.
No idea, didn’t watch it. The start of the ExileCon stream was decent though. PoE2 is looking good.

Careful you will be boo’ed from the forum. 
The new changes that they are patching in on 8th August are a big W, and they do seem to be listening to the players.
Some ressource gain here, some % there, some twweaks to stupid aspects/skills to be even easier to use, some dmg reduction for mages. A lot of “later down the line” and “Next season” kind of talk. It was okay and they most likely build sorc up over time now and bring Barb back to former glory… maybe ^^.
All in all it wasn’t bad but it was far from good. Most “YES!” moment was the mob incrase so we finaly have density (In the example dungen there where 100% more mobs ^^).
God I loved that game. I played the shit out of it one summer, until I accidentally over-wrote my save, instead of loading, while in the middle of a radiation field, and full-party death happened within movement 3 turns.

Bro it looks so fucking good, and then they dropped the bomb that closed beta wont be for another year. I thought for sure they were going to do something sneaky like say “hey, its available for all to try now” or something of that ilk. The next league does look interesting though, I will play it.
Hey, a small win is a win. It sounds like I will be reinstalling it either season 3 or 4, its nowhere close to being where it should be.
This isnt true at all, we all paid for the same game. The game is not is the greatest place, it is what it is. 2 “campfires” in a week says it all. The main dev looks like he wants to end it all at each campfire.
We all want it to be good, it being good makes other arpg devs step up their shit in kind.

They created seasons 1-3 months ago under an unrealistic state of the game that’s why we most likely get no realistic content before season 3 anyway. Worst case D4 will be a worthwhile game in season 4-6. I played enough d$ so the money was no waste and if there are good seasons in the future it’s a win no matter what.
I just fill up the rest of the battlepass just because reasons and then call it a day.
The people who reviwede it that I know from streams said PoE1 is better and I’m confused why there is gold all of the sudden 
. At least it looks nice…
To most people, change = bad. PoE 2 is more or less ruthless mode from PoE, its a much slower playstyle, kind of like D4. People in general are stupid, all the footage that was shown, including streamer game play, consisted of low level characters with shit gear and no good links for their skills. I think Kripp had a 3 link once, but 1 link was chain which was a 50% less multiplier. Exilecon was to showcase the game, not show red tier maps with 10 6 link skills.
Gold is simply to gamble with vendors. The devs said in PoE, vendors were useless, which they were. Now, you can use gold to purchase gear instead of crafting currency, or you can use it to gamble on whatever base is available to gamble on. They also said it will be so common its trade value would be right there next to wisdom scrolls.
1 nice addition, there is a person in each town that can identify all your items with 1 click, thats some nice QoL.`

About PoE 2 , I viewed most of the dev talks , and ended with mixed feelings. On one side I didn’t like the focus on being slower, more difficult, several bosses and dodges , etc. On the other side there were a lot of positive theories and improvements, but I have heard them talk the same talk in PoE 1 , and miss whatever they were going to fix several times. So will have to wait.
In the end I have lower expectations after seeing more of the game , but I hope for a decent game.

Lower expectations is always a healthier place to be, then you’ll be less likely to be disappointed by the final product when it launches (& I don’t mean that I thonk that PoE 2 is going to suck, just that reality often doesn’t live up to the hype).
In an alternate universe where me and Adriana Lima are living happily ever after, this exists.
I personally am totally ok with the step backward from the zoom zoom. They also stated that end game will be significantly faster than what we saw, ya know, cause we wont be in blue gear using 2 links, or at least all yall wont. With my rng, who knows
