So have you guys heard the news

Krafton has doubled down on being “AI-first” and is now offering severance packages to anyone who willingly leaves the company, i.e. layoffs with extra steps.

I still want to have hope in LE’s future, but they’re surely making it hard.

It’s actually the other way round. The company wants to cut staff members so it’ll be more generous with the severance package in order to entice volunteers. It could potentially be very generous (a previous employer of mine was doing the same thing ~15 years ago & was very generous), so if the employee is able to get another job quickly they’ll have a sizeable amount in the bank with minimal interruption to their employment.

I don’t know where you are from but this isn’t how it works. I once worked for a company and had a contract that had no end date to it. I could’ve worked there untill I retire. Sadly there was a crisis and restrucruting was going on. We had a generation clause in our contracts so the freshest hirers go first for financial reasons. I was asked if I quit on the spot with a severence package or if i want the remaming months untill stuff happens. I negotiated my package and left as a very happy person.
