"Smoke!"

Every single time I make a new character I get an exasperated chuckle out of the fact that in the very second zone of the game, we meet our big dumb barbarian friend Grael, who shortly afterwards coughs and remarks on the air quality. I wish I could reply “Yes Grael, that is smoke. Good job buddy. Gold star!”.

I know this is gonna sound like a nit-pick, but this voiceline stands out so badly to me, and it’s one of the first interactions outside of a textbox in the entire game. It just seems so poorly written, it doesn’t add anything to the scene that isn’t already abundantly obvious to the player, considering we’re in a zone called The Burning Forest, and there’s fire pretty much everywhere. It also just doesn’t seem natural, like something someone would actually say in that situation. His other voicelines remark on the destruction and his regrets, which are great character building, but this one line of “Smoke!” is just so strange and obvious that it bugs me to an unreasonable degree.
