Hello, currently there are a few map layouts that for whatever reason cause massive FPS drops when using the Smite skill with the fissure node taken. When I take the node out the FPS drops stop but its a massive DPS loss. I’m also specd into the void version of the skill if that info helps. The FPS drops only happen on certain map types however
I’m seeing the same symptom - FPS drops from 60+ to <10 when using Smite + Fissure + Void conversion, only in certain zone types (I’ve noticed Bleak Steppe and Burial City so far). I reported it in-game yesterday in 2 of the zones where it occurred (bug report IDs 86a82u1rx and 86a82n4a8)
Exact same thing for me too, also running VK Void Smite Fissure. Normally 130-165fps, but a few certain specific zones tank my fps to under 20 as soon as I start casting, and it ramps back up to 130+ when I stop. Zones that are unplayable include one of the foresty zones (Bleak Steppe) and one of the snowy zones (didn’t grab the name), but also Defiled Fortress (void nemesis woven echo), The Great Bridge (set-shattering woven echo) and, extremely unfortunately, Aberroth’s arena after the transition to Aberroth after you kill the duo Harbingers. It’s been extremely demoralizing burning two Harbinger Eyes already just dying to his first slam because the fps (and seemingly input lag?) is so bad that I can’t even see the attack start before it oneshots me.
7950x3d + 4080 Super; tried newest nvidia drivers but no difference.
If anyone finds anything that fixes this, please let me know.
EDIT: I’ve found a workaround: overriding the default (void) Smite skill cosmetic with either the Crimson Smite or the Cosmic Smite skill cosmetics fixes the issue.
Saw this topic, i also have big suspicions that there is something wrong with smite fissure. I tried some of my legacy characters, i still get drops but more in the sense of from 144 fps to like 95-120.
