Everytime i cast multistrike on certain range it will Always cast smite if i am directly on the boss it wont cast any smites. Seems weird it also works that you can range multistrike on mob packs to proc smite.
This is technically not a bug. Multistrike additional swords only hit “nearby enemies” and not the target itself. When you change the Swords to Smite, this still applies, meaning Smite wont hit the target of Multistrike but only enemies around. It procs when you cast in as range because the Boss is not considered the main target anymore but a nearby enemy.
I was really disappointed to find out that Armament stacks don’t function at all for single-target. Yes, this is the skill as written. In my opinion, however, it makes the skill less desirable overall.
I doubt that we will ever see the skill redesigned at a base level, but at the very least I would really like to see a node added that allows Armament to target the target of the initial strike. It can be conditional, it can have a cost, I don’t care. But as the skill currently is, I likely will never use it.
The skill isn’t inherently bad. It’s very fun to play and effective against packs of monsters. But having to specialize a second attack for single-target means I get to specialize one less utility or defensive ability, and I’m just not interested in that.
